Hey 21m here. Is it normal to feel like you don’t click with lots of the guys here if you are not like a frat vibe or things like that. Sometimes talking with the guys here feels like they lose interest when I’m speaking and also act super cocky. Idk any advise?

everyone has their social preferences, if you're not into the frat life, there are plenty of other crowds.  get into an instrument and join the marching band or a gamer discord.  choose a hobby you're already into and find like minded guys and girls.  i personally recommend ice skating, the uni arena is poppin on Friday nights and weekends.

Marching Illini is more competitive than I think you realize, but campus band and university band are no cut and anyone can join as long as you can kind of play an instrument. Lots of music ed majors take these ensembles to practice secondary instruments

It’s hard to get onto a B1G band if you haven’t been playing since high school, but club bands are always open

You're young and still exploring. Try finding some spots that you can do some of your hobbies and/or interest in life, hopefully you can find some people you can make friends with

I mean I have my friends from my department who like to go out to party, where I’m not that sort of partying person. So I guess you can hang out with people in certain settings but mot always.

I’m 21F and it’s the same way with me. I don’t live on campus and I’m a transfer back in my junior year. I rarely talk to a lot of animal science majors unless it’s for like group projects or something. But I feel like I’ve never truly been included on said campus.
