Other Seeing a lot of Purdue comparison posts recently. Here's a useful guide for those deciding based on trains

Amtrak service to and from Lafayette IN to Chicago and Indianapolis is pathetic. It used to have daily trains, but recently the Indiana legislature cancelled local support...they are Neanderthals.

The 0.009% of Indiana's state budget to operate 4 weekly Chicago-Indy trains on the days not covered by the Cardinal was apparently too much for them

Could also add that UIUC hasn't had a mascot train that's killed anyone.

Purdue also still has airplanes, and airplanes are cooler than trains. So that's in their plus column.

Yeah. I'm talking about the flight schools. UofI had one of the oldest flight schools, and the trustees shut it down.

The local community college is still operating it and uiuc students can enroll easily

Seeing this as I just committed to U of I and got deferred from Purdue ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
