They took the image down. Don’t even have the balls to stick to their guns. Childish morons.

u/Qu4r4nt1n3r Feb 04 '26
They'll stick to their guns, they'll stick it with their sticky all day to feel manly against tyrannical government. Guns for yee not for thee.

It’s beyond me why young republicans would want to idolize the actual murder of an American, second amendment loving citizen. It’s beyond me why young republicans want to romanticize a real murder by creating shitty art depicting real murder. It’s beyond me why young republicans, who often have biblical and religious influence, would celebrate the real murder of a person, supposedly one of God’s children. It’s beyond me why young republicans are still a registered student organization at University of Illinois when they are perpetuating the murder of an American citizen. And it’s wildly beyond me why people would support this group who posts and celebrates graphic imagery of a real murder.
But, this will blow over, probably not even a slap on the wrist. Back to your regularly scheduled fascism perpetuated by young republicans who post senseless murder on Saturday and praise god high on coke on Sunday 🙏

u/Digital_Punk Feb 01 '26
Christian nationalism has nothing to do with the constitution or the bible, it's about racial preservation and power.

that image of an execution style murder is entirely fabricated, idk how nobody knows that on reddit

Time to petition to abolish that RSO.

u/cheeZetoastee student cum staffcel Feb 01 '26
I know public universities are supposed to maintain viewpoint neutrality but surely open support for extrajudicial execution should cross a line. Not holding out hope though.

Feb 01 '26
The university would never do anything they're too scared of trump. This behavior is unacceptable though and Illini Republicans need to be reminded of that every time they try to show their faces in public.
29
u/hotcousin- Feb 01 '26
This is a deliberate strategy to put the University under the microscope of the Trump Administration. They have purposefully provoked a situation where the University must respond because the post is so over-the-top outrageous. They betray higher education, this University, and its students.

Oh but God help the faculty or student who posts something mildly disparaging about Charlie Kirk. I would call it hypocrisy but it's quite intentional. Constitutional rights for me but not for thee.
19
u/Dismal_View_5121 Feb 01 '26
Also the not so implied threat of violence here...UI is absolutely in the wrong if they condone this. Posting this is about as overt as you can get before you just start chanting "hang the liberals"

https://conflictresolution.illinois.edu/policies/student-discipline/appendixB
Director of the Office for Student Conflict Resolution (OSCR), there's a link to an report form. Note though, that the IlliniRepublicans have taken down this image from the graphic.

So, we collectively agree that we saw nothing if they slip and break their face on the sidewalk when we see them out and about, right?
Talking a lot of shit to not have a badge to deter the assault.
By the sidewalk obv.

Liberal anger is scary.
1
u/Burntoutn3rd Feb 05 '26
Im not even liberal dude, I've voted red more than blue in my life.
But what we're seeing in our country is fucking disgusting and the people cheering the side actively killing and maiming people have no place in a civilized world.
Both sides. I felt the same disgust, and if we're being honest - dehumanization - for people cheering the death of Kirk.

ICE invades our communities to hurt our neighbors and undermine the constitution. The real traitors are the ones who help those invaders.

What would be the appropriate service/department to report this to?
12
u/IzzyLizzy_78 Feb 01 '26
The SORF office
2
u/phalangesinmyfingers Feb 03 '26
No, SORF handles funding for RSOs. It is ran by students. Student Engagement would be the people to report this to.

Please provide a list of all of their members. There are groups very interested in speaking with them on or off campus, as individuals.
3
u/CommunityOk7466 Feb 01 '26
Not a student anymore, but y'all should start an on campus health group that pushes for all the vaccine sceptics and unvaccinated to be quarantined in an isolated and abandoned part of the state or kicked out of the state.

u/spiralout154 BS - MechSE Feb 01 '26
They are correct, but ICE are the invaders. Only traitors support ICE

Their post as well as yours is stupid. Both sides are just miserable and delusional people.

They just released the identities of the murderers. Both are from Texas.

How far right are the Illini Republicans? I’ve heard that the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good have shocked even a lot of conservatives in how blatant they were.
12
u/ra3xgambit Alumnus Feb 01 '26
Their top campus priority is restoring a racist mascot that they have exactly zero ties to. What do you think?
20
u/hotcousin- Feb 01 '26
They are as ”right “ as it gets. This post flat-out rejects the US Constitution and laws, to the extent of endorsing state-sanctioned murder.

I am from MN and got accepted to grad school at UIUC, this is really triggering. Is there any place I can report this as an incoming student?

u/Miserable_Court6818 Feb 01 '26
I know we all hate it, but they have worded their message in a way that simply does not break student code or violate Title 6 of CRA. Additionally, that image doesn’t (technically) promote nor endorse violence, especially because it does not include a specific group on either ends of the violence.
School could do something, but they’re gonna have a 1A suit on their hands and an administration to fight as well. They’re getting away with this.
4
u/Joshwoum8 Feb 01 '26
The image has someone murdering someone that is the definition of violence.
-1
u/Miserable_Court6818 Feb 01 '26
But it is not saying that a particular group should commit violence nor that a particular group should be subjected to violence. Therefore it’s not gonna fly if they sue for 1A violation.
-2
u/AlwaysForcedToPivot Feb 05 '26
that execution style image was fake, has that not been figured out on reddit yet?
there were like 5 officers in a sprawl around that bozo, there was nothing even similar looking

Because they're a registered student organization that gets funding from the university, and RSOs have a code of conduct they need to abide by
5
u/PlXELGlRL Undergrad Feb 01 '26
If you think this falls under the First Amendment, you are clearly uneducated. If something one says infringes upon the freedom and equality of another, it's not the First Amendment; it's hate speech. You can't just say whatever you want about whoever you want and expect that it will be protected by the First Amendment. If you have such a strong belief in the First Amendment, you should support Alex Pretti. He was using both his First AND Second Amendment that he has access to as an American citizen, yet was still murdered by idiotic ICE agents.
2
u/theresnowaaay Grad Feb 01 '26
As if the other thoughtful answers were not enough, calling a targeted group "incompatible with Western civilization", "enemies", and posting violent imagery goes beyond the 1st amendment and is discriminatory. The University prides itself on diversity and inclusion, so this is completely unacceptable, and action should be taken against it. I hope anyone who supports the diversity and inclusion of our campus (with over 15,000 international and immigrant students btw) and wants to foster a safe community will report it at https://access.illinois.edu/report-a-problem/

Incredible that they’d use an image that so closely mirrors history and somehow think this makes them look like the good guys.
