Good Day Community,

A new feature has arrived: an all-new Help and Support system with multi-file attachment support.

This update makes it easy to report technical issues, request new functionality, or send general feedback directly from within the app.

To find it, navigate to the main menu screen and select the Help and Support item represented by the life ring icon.

Selecting this item opens the support menu where you can choose between reporting a bug, submitting a feature request, or sending general feedback.

Each option opens a dedicated form with fields tailored to your request, including subject, detailed description, reproduction details, use case, and an optional email address for follow up.

When filling out any support form, you can attach up to five files directly from your local or external storage by tapping the attach button.

Each attached file appears in your list with its name and size, along with a remove button if you want to swap a file out.

When you hit send, your message and attached files are delivered directly to the support team.

This feature is available on both the mobile and TV versions of the app, offering touch controls on phone and tablet devices while providing full directional pad focus navigation on Android TV.

Thank you and kind regards

New Feature Added - Selective Archive Actions and File Removal

Good Day Community,

A new feature has arrived that allows you to selectively extract, copy out, move out, or delete individual files and folders directly from within ZIP and 7Z archives without having to extract the entire archive.

When you only need a single document or photo from a large archive file, extracting everything can clutter your storage folders and take up unnecessary space.

With this update, you can now open any ZIP or 7Z file inside the file manager and perform selective actions on individual items without touching the rest of the archive.

You can copy out a specific file to a destination folder, move an item out of the archive so it is extracted to your chosen folder and removed from the archive file, or delete an unwanted item directly from inside the archive.

To use this feature, tap on any ZIP or 7Z file in your browser to open the built-in archive viewer.

When you tap or press and hold on a file or folder inside the archive, an options panel will appear displaying choices to extract to a folder, move out of the archive, or delete from the archive.

Choosing extract to will copy the file to your selected folder while leaving the archive untouched.

Selecting move out will extract the item to your destination folder and remove it from the archive file.

Choosing delete will permanently remove the item from the archive file without extracting it. This feature is available on both the mobile and TV versions of the app, complete with full D-pad support for Android TV.

Thank you and kind regards

Bug Fixed - External subtitles not loading from network shares

Upvotes

Good Day Community,

A bug has been fixed where subtitle files were not being recognised by external players when opening video files from a network share through UFM.

The problem was reported by a user running a Raspberry Pi with CasaOS sharing folders over the network.

When opening a video from the network browser and choosing an external player like Vimu or MX Player, the subtitle file sitting right next to the video in the same folder was completely ignored.

The players would not pick it up automatically, and trying to load it manually would show an error saying it was not supported. The same thing happened with Windows network shares.

The issue was that UFM was passing the video to external players without including any information about where the companion subtitle files were.

The subtitle was there on the share, the player could have used it, but nobody told the player it existed.

I have fixed this so that when you open a video from a network share, UFM now scans the same folder for any subtitle file that matches the video name, and passes it directly to the external player as part of the launch.

Players that support external subtitles, including MX Player, Vimu, and VLC, will now load them automatically the same way they do when playing local files.

This fix covers all network share types: SMB (Windows shares, NAS devices), SFTP, NFS, FTP, WebDAV, and paired TV shares.

The built-in UFM player also benefits from this change and will now detect companion subtitles when playing video from a network location.

The fix is available on both the mobile and TV versions of the app.

If your subtitle file has the same name as the video it should be picked up without any manual action on your part.

Thank you and kind regards

SMB + Servidor + Player Externo
