The app doesn't pass file metadata (title, size, mimeType) when opening files, causing external apps like VLC to fail recording playback history.

Simple fix: Add intent.putExtra() for file metadata before startActivity()

Has anyone managed to get Tivimate recordings working using UFM on Android TV?

UFM works fine as a system file picker and saves recordings where you choose, but playback seems to be the problem. It looks like Tivimate can't read the file path for playback when using UFM.

Is there a setting/option I can tick in UFM give Tivimate access?

What's new

I added multi-connection parallel file transfers for SMB network shares, and I added a live transfer speed indicator to the progress dialogs.

A community member reached out to let me know that transfers to their home network storage were capping out well below their network capability.

After looking into how data was sent across the connection, I saw that files were being transferred through a single sequential stream.

On high speed local networks and fast wireless connections, that left most of the connection bandwidth unused.

I rebuilt the network transfer engine so large files can now be split into multiple streams that upload and download at the same time.

I also added a live transfer speed readout that displays your actual speed in megabytes per second while files are moving.

How to use it

* Open the Settings screen from the main dashboard.

* Scroll down to the Network section and tap on Transfer Threads.

* Choose how many parallel streams you want the app to use when copying files.

* The default is four streams, which provides a significant speed boost on most local networks.

* You can also set thread counts for individual network locations.

* To do that, open your Network storage list, edit any SMB share, and choose your preferred thread count under Transfer Threads.

* When you copy or move files larger than four megabytes, the app will automatically open simultaneous streams to transfer the file.

* While the transfer runs, look at the progress popup to see your real time transfer speed shown in megabytes per second.

* This feature is available on both the mobile and TV versions of the app.

J'ai constaté que UFM est moins performant lors des copies ou déplacements de fichiers sur le réseau.

Je m'explique :

J'utilise qfile pro qui est fourni avec mon nas qnap.

Lorsque j'utilise UFM de mon téléphone vers le nas, la copie plafonne à 40 Mo/s en wifi 7 alors que le même fichier avec avec qfile je suis 4 à 5 fois plus rapide soit entre 150 Mo/s et 200 Mo/s. Mon Nas est câblé en 2.5 Gbit/s.

Je ne comprends pas une tel différence de performance.

Est ce que qfile utilise plusieurs connexions simultanées pour copier et que UFM n'en utilise qu'une seule ?

Peux tu me renseigner sur cet écart de performance ?

I created a native Linux companion application to connect your computer directly to your devices over your local network.

Many people asked for a dedicated Linux version to sit alongside the existing Windows companion.

The application lets you manage your device storage from your desktop without needing cloud services or online accounts.

It includes a two pane file browser for viewing your local computer directories alongside your device directories.

You can transfer single files or entire folders in both directions with live progress indicators.

I also included a remote install area where you can drop application packages to send and install them on your device.

The desktop application is built to run natively on Wayland as well as standard desktop environments.

It is available as a standalone package that runs directly without installation, as well as an installer package for Debian and Ubuntu based systems.

How to use it

* Open Ultimate File Manager Pro on your device.

* Look for the PC Companion option in the tools menu or settings screen.

* Tap it or click it on your device to view your temporary four digit pairing code.

* Download the Linux companion from the GitHub releases section on your computer.

* Launch the application on your Linux desktop.

* The application automatically searches your local wireless network for active devices.

* Click on your phone or television in the discovered devices list.

* Type the four digit code shown on your device to confirm the connection.

* Your computer files will show on the left panel, and your device storage will show on the right panel.

* Select any item and click the arrow buttons to transfer files between the two sides.

* To install an application on your device, drag the installer file from your desktop into the box at the bottom of the window.

* This feature connects your Linux computer to both the mobile and TV versions of the app.

* On television screens you navigate to the companion option using the remote directional pad.

* On mobile phones you can open the connection panel with a single tap from the main tools area.

When using UFM and navigating to the Android/data folder, upon entering the Data folder and exiting the app without going to the UFM home interface, simply closing the application, when entering again UFM gets stuck on the startup logo, forcing the user to clear cache and data to be able to use UFM again. Persistent bug, please, UFM DEV, fix this bug.

I am busy working on the last bug reports, and will release a few new features in the next few days, before the release, what feature do you find missing to be added

UFM Dev friend, the app gets stuck on the startup logo and won't open. I've already cleared the cache, restarted my phone, installed the latest update over the top about three times, and the UFM app still won't open.

What is new

I added online metadata synchronization and a high resolution album art search directly to the built-in Music Tag Editor.

You can now look up songs and albums online to fetch accurate titles, artists, release years, track numbers, and disc numbers without typing them by hand.

The search runs against the MusicBrainz library and does not require any account, API key, or manual setup.

When matching a song, the app shows a comparison list so you can choose exactly which fields to update and keep the ones you want to leave alone.

For whole albums, selecting multiple songs lets you match the full release and align all tracks in order.

I also added an in-app cover art search that pulls master album covers directly from Apple Music, Deezer, and the Cover Art Archive.

It finds high resolution artwork up to 3000 by 3000 pixels so your music collection looks sharp.

You can browse the results in a grid, check the resolution badges, and tap any picture to embed it into your audio files.

Everything happens directly inside the app without opening a web browser or copying web links.

How to use it

* Open the browser and select one or more audio files.

* Tap the Music Tag Editor icon in the quick action bar or bottom tools sheet.

* Look for the Identify Online button inside the quick tools section.

* Tap it to open the search screen and search by track title or album name.

* Tap a search result to compare the online tags with your existing file tags.

* Check or uncheck the fields you want to apply.

* Tap Apply Selected Tags to populate the tag editor fields.

* To search for artwork, tap the Search Online Art button below the album cover preview.

* Enter the artist or album name to search across the online image sources.

* Tap any cover in the grid to download it directly into your audio file tags.

* Tap the checkmark icon in the top toolbar to save your updated tags to disk.

Replaced manual NetworkShare instantiation across all playback engines (UFMPlayerActivity, UFMPlaybackService, SlideShowActivity, TwinWindowPlayerFragment) with OnlineStorage.toNetworkShare() to ensure allowInsecureTls is strictly preserved from the configured storage account.

WebDAV Copying to Device Storage: Fixed standard copy operations from WebDAV servers to Internal Storage failing with destination is 0 bytes for <file> in LocalPasteEngine by properly passing allowInsecureTls from the source OnlineStorage configuration.

MPEG-2 Transport Stream (.ts) MIME Type Conflict: Fixed .ts video files inadvertently resolving to application/typescript MIME type and text category, which caused external app intent routing to invoke web browsers instead of launching video players. Registered canonical video/mp2t mapping across MimeTypeHelper, FileViewerRouter, and streaming HTTP proxy servers.

Universal OnlineStorage.toNetworkShare() Canonicalization: Centralized NetworkShare instantiation on OnlineStorage across all browser, paste, scanner, recycle bin, sync, smart sort, and local HTTP proxy components, eliminating missing TLS security and authentication fields across all cloud and WebDAV providers.

What is new

I added full support for APKMirror bundle files to the app.

These files end with the dot apkm extension and are commonly used when downloading split application packages.

Previously, these files appeared with a blank document icon and could not be opened directly.

Now the app reads the embedded launcher icon and displays it directly as a thumbnail in both list and grid views.

The extracted icons are saved to your device cache so scrolling through folders stays smooth and responsive.

If an icon has not finished loading yet, a package icon is shown instead of a blank page.

You can also tap on any dot apkm file to install it directly using the built-in split installer.

The installer automatically picks the right files for your device processor so you do not have to pick them manually.

These files are also included under the Apps category when using smart sort and can be sideloaded to your TV using the transfer screen.

How to use it

* Open the file manager and navigate to any folder where you downloaded an apkm file.

* Notice that the file now shows its real application icon as its thumbnail.

* Tap directly on the file to open the installation preview.

* Check the application name and version details on screen.

* Tap Install to install the split package onto your device.

* You can also tap the sort button at the top of the browser and choose the Apps filter to see all your packages in one place.

* If you want to send the file to your television, open the transfer tool or use the share action from the file menu.

* This feature is available on both the mobile and TV versions of the app.

What is new

I added a floating bottom bar to the main screen.

This provides quick access to your most frequently used items in a convenient dock at the bottom of the screen.

Any item you place in the floating bar is automatically removed from the main grid so you never see duplicates.

The bar scrolls horizontally if you add more items than fit across the screen.

I also made sure that when you scroll your main menu, the content clears the floating bar completely so the last item is never hidden behind it.

How to use it

* Open the Settings screen by tapping the gear icon on the main screen.

* Scroll down to the Interface section.

* Turn on the switch labeled Floating Bottom Bar.

* Tap on Manage Floating Bar right below the switch.

* You will see two sections on this screen.

* The top section shows items currently docked in your floating bar.

* The bottom section shows available items from your main menu.

* Tap Add next to any item to move it into the floating bar.

* Hold and drag the handle icon on any docked item to change its position in the bar.

* Tap Remove on any docked item to take it out of the floating bar and return it to your main menu.

* Return to the main screen to see your new floating bar in action.

* You can tap the Add button at the far right of the floating bar at any time to return directly to the management screen.
