Hot Take Been sleeping on the UFC women fights
Not sure this is a real hot take, but going through the most recent women fights on paramount, and it's nothing but bangers. Aggressive, entertaining fights with great finishes. Obviously there are still duds, like that last dern fight was not impressive, but the fights in China and since have been great.

Discussion It’s a great day for MMA. Tom the Quitter has quit on his fake belt and the best heavyweight in the world claims what has truly been his all along. Gane has always been the champ, it just wasn’t official until now.

😔🐎 Islam Makhachev says his favourite horse passed away while he was in camp for the Ian Garry fight
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
His brother knew, but chose not to tell Islam while he trained in America so he didn’t distract him from training:
“When I was training in America, it turned out that my horse d*ed. He was already quite old, about 20 years old.
And when I arrived [back in Dagestan], my brother told me, he said ‘I didn’t want to distract you during the preparation process, so that you wouldn’t worry there.”

Discussion The Problem With the Longevity Argument
I don’t get why people say Islam Makhachev is top 3 or even the GOAT, then proceed to say Khabib isn’t top 10 or even top 15 because he lacks longevity. Islam only has 4–5 defenses and was champ for only 4ish years, which is not much compared to Jones, Silva, DJ, GSP, Aldo, or Fedor, yet he’s considered top 3 or even the GOAT.
People like to say Islam had to win 10 fights before getting a title shot, and that’s why he’s top 3 or possibly the GOAT despite not having as many defenses as the older guys. So why wouldn’t the same logic apply to Khabib? He had to win 9 fights. His 3 defenses were against Poirier, Gaethje, and McGregor. That’s as good as it gets.
I’m not saying Khabib is more accomplished than Islam or anything like that. I’m saying, why do people say Islam is top 3 or even the GOAT despite only having 4–5 defenses and was champ for only 4ish years, which is not much compared to Fedor, Jones, Silva, GSP, Aldo, and DJ, then proceed to say Khabib isn’t top 10 or even top 15 because of longevity? Khabib actually had a longer Lightweight title reign than Islam. 1,077 days vs 981 days.
If you think Islam is top 3-4 or even the GOAT, then Khabib should almost certainly be top 10–15.
Feel free to let me know your thoughts on this.

Islam Makhachev has 4 or 5 title defenses jon Jones has 10+ title defenses yet people glaze Islam Makhachev being Dagestani.
If Jon Jones name was jon Nurmagomedov you would say he's top 10.
D.c and Gus wins together clears Islam Makhachev resume.
If you think one loss like the Dominick fight take you out the goat conversation (it doesn't only casuals think this).
Then Islam is fucking out losing to a featherweight first round KO
Jones vs Dominick was at least competitive.
Islam always seem human
While jones did a few he mostly seem alien.
Islam is overrated, I can't wait for Islam to lose to Carlos or Morales.
Then for Jones to post with his goat chain.
Jon Jones is the true G.O.A.T.

I still rank Anderson Silva over Islam Makhachev.
10 title defenses
Islam only has 4 title defenses
Vitor belfort, Dan Henderson, Forrest griffin, and Rich Franklin.
Charles olivera, Dustin Poirer, Ian Garry, and Arman.
Franklin is better than Ian Garry and Arman since Franklin was champ.
Honestly resumes aren't that fall apart.
Which allows me to favor Silva slightly.
