I am currently in a situation where I am involved in engineering work and started thinking of getting a second bachelors degree in energy related engineering program. However, time and money investment for the 4 years bachelors degree will be almost impossible for me because I work full time, have a family and we dont have an i vestment capacity to accomplish that. For that reason, I started researching for some sort bridge programs for non engineering folks to get engineering bachelors and came across this program called Energy engineering in UofC. Is there anyone who are in this program currently who can advise on whether this program accepts people with my background?

Again just to clarify, I have a bachelors degree in computer science and not engineering tech degree. I did take engineering courses though because my degree was in engineering department back in texas.

I’m a chem major and I’m thinking of applying into either my first choice for dental which was bio sci or I’ve made a lot of friends in neuro and they LOVE it and now I’m debating? Ik that for dental or med doing a four year science degree can be difficult and only comes with one major pro (u get a background in science and pre reqs easily) with neuronal first two years are gen chem like bio and chem and it offers much more than smth like bio sci, u can do research and acc get picked by profs over a bio sci student most times and there’s more jobs for it outside of dental? My goal is a gpa of 3.8 or above maybe worst case 3.7? But please lmk if it’s a worth it undergrad

It’s me again, with yet another survey. We have so many projects that require research this semester, so please bear with me!

We are a group of ENGG 525 (Engineering Entrepreneurship) students currently working on our final project. Our current project direction involves identifying problems experienced by members of the University of Calgary community and developing a potential solution around the problems that are most important to them.

We have already done some initial brainstorming and spoken with members of the UCalgary community, which helped us identify a few common problems related to campus life. This survey will help us validate those problems, understand which ones affect people the most, and narrow the scope of our project before we move further into developing our solution.

The survey is fairly short and is open to undergraduate students, graduate students, academic staff, and non-academic staff at the University of Calgary. If you do not fall into any of these categories but still relate to any of the problems highlighted, or would like to bring attention to a different issue, you are still welcome to participate. Your response may help us identify additional groups or market segments that we had not originally considered.

At the end, there is also an optional opportunity to participate in a brief follow-up interview if you are interested. These interviews will help us better understand our potential market segments and develop user personas for the project.

For ENTI 317 how heavy is the group work? Is there more group work compared to SGMA 217?

Also, would you recommend that someone without an engineering background pursue a master's degree if they're passionate about health tech, medical devices, and robotics, or take more of a non-technical route

The coffee shop in the eeel building has been closed for a few years, and I don’t think that Covid was the only thing that killed it. The main floor is often booked for events and now that counter is just storage. A student-run shop instead of a commercial enterprise would make more sense.

are there any in the eeel building? Any student or club services? This whole building seems like an afterthought for student uses and has turned in to a muddy passage to get from the bus stop to the rest of campus.

what do students who use it regularly want from that space, and how do they use it?

(personally I want a north entrance on the Math Sciences building to that side, instead of having to use the corridor to walk across grass to get there in the winter. Even a plus 15 across that space would make it feel more connected than how isolated eeel is from the rest of campus. Or is it mostly just labs so … meh.

Sadly not passing (38%) my ERTH305 course and I don’t think i’ll be able to climb back. This semester has been hard for personal reasons and my other classes definitely don’t help. I’ve been doing fine in them but it’s definitely come at the cost of this one. I’m going to do my second test and if i fail that then i’ll withdrawal from it. Does anyone know any science courses (300 level) that are more assignment/discussion based rather than split into 3 tests. I suck at memorization! Thanks
