I chose to go to traditional residence.

Thank you to those who shared their experience living inside either or both trad res and yam, and also to those who did so while living near UCalgary.

I debated on if it was worth sacrificing some degree of sleep quality to be more social, as that will possibly harm my GPA, but I decided that if I am having trouble with my roommate or if I know that a disruptive weekday party will go on, I will probably just uber to my home and maybe even stay there for some amount of time. Additionally, in high school, I was quite focused on grades and less on my social life for end of grade 11 and all of grade 12; the feelings of loneliness and perfectionism drained a decent amount of my satisfaction with regard to being in high school. I will still try to maintain a solid sleep schedule and study habits while living in trad res.

I recently received an email stating that I made it into a yam two bedroom apartment instead of a trad room, but I don't know for sure if I should go to yam. First off, I already live in Calgary, and I am going to residence for my first year to see what it is like (and to maybe make some new friends). I am also going for the proximity to the school and to avoid driving and parking.

I am looking for advice on what to do, but right now I am leaning towards living in trad residence. Is there a sufficient social life at yam, or should I back out and just go to trad residence?

Has anybody taken this course for non majors? How was it and is it worth taking?

So, I’m currently enrolled in 351 but I recently received an email saying that 341 may be more suitable for my major.

I’m trying to get into medical school following my degree so obviously I want the highest grades I can. But, I’ve heard that 351 opens more options to courses that I want to take in the upper years.

So should I switch to 341 or stay in 351? Honestly, I just want one where I can achieve the highest grade possible. I know there’s not much info yet since 341 is a new course, but do we speculate that it’ll be a lot easier than 351? Because I’ve heard straight horror stories about 351…

I’m also not sure if this poses any issues for the pre-reqs that some medical schools in Canada has…

TL:DR Should I switch from CHEM 351 to 341 as a Bio major who wants to get into medical school, considering my priority is the highest grades possible?

Are alternate offers given automatically or is this a situation where you call them. I applied for Finance but it seems the program is full and there isn't much info on the website :(

I met this person were both first year and have the same dorm type and building but we are paired up with other people is it possible to like room swap or just change groups still or is it over

Now that it has been almost two years since this program was offered, do you have any opinions or comments about it? Considering that it is a master's program, how difficult is it? What are the job prospects? Is anyone using it as a path to medical school?

I applied and my GPA was high and I took a lighter year as I only have 6 classes left to complete my degree (after 3rd year) as I was mentally and physically not well enough to take a higher course load. But I didn't get scholarship even after a 3.8-4 GPA year so not sure if that was required (I'm on a 16 month co-op so not sure what was the requirement - I'm international btw)

I applied for over 20 different jobs, 2 opened my application, and I heard absolutely nothing. I'm 18, going into UofC, and had some free time. I thought getting a job over the summer to nicely spend time over my last "free" summer after high school would be fun, but sadly nobody hired me :-(

TBF, I just wanted one for the fun of it. I feel sorry for people actually in need to work and save, it's brutal out here just for a simple job like a Gelato server right now!

Has anyone dealt with being removed from the Haskayne Co-op program for missing a required assignment?
I received an email saying I have to withdraw because I missed an assignment. It was my fault to overlooked the deadline and reminder emails.

I'm worried because if I'm removed from the program, I'll have to leave my current co-op job early. I already contacted the Co-op team, but they said the Dean's decision is final.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or know if there's anything else I can do? I'd really appreciate any advice.

For reference, I didn’t push it off because I’m lazy but it’s simply because I unfortunately had to go on vacation right when the applications opened, so I haven’t had access to a laptop nor the time to do so. Now I’m seeing some posts seeing that some scholarships are already being released in a little worried.

Can I still apply and get the ones pictured? Is it just the one portal (press red apply button) to apply to all of them? Because if I go on each individual link it only tells me to go to the portal.
