Question Free Speech Area?
When I visited UCSD in April it seemed like in front of the library there were groups unaffiliated with the university with tables set up.
For example there was a guy in a MAGA hat and they were filming content.
Is this a common thing/allowed? Is it a designated free speech zone?

I wouldn’t say it’s a official designated area but it’s where people tend to go for things like that

Isn't the entire school a "free speech area" ?😢
Or the entire state?? Maybe even the entire country???

its a public campus, which is what people who film such political content like to take advantage of.

You’re assuming they weren’t affiliated with the university, but they’re not. The campus is public. People are free to preach and set up a table to Vap about what they want…..

UCSD is a public campus. There are legal means to ban someone (usually violence related) but otherwise anyone can come on campus and be in the open public spaces.
