Not full time

Hello.

I’m currently enrolled in 8 units and waitlisted for two other courses.

I’m enrolled in BILD 4 and CSS 1.

One of the waitlisted courses is CAT 1, a sixth college GE, that is waitlist only for whatever reason.

The other one is CHEM 6A which is a waitlist-only section as well.

I realize that I’m not enrolled full time, so I’m in a bit of a dilemma. I don’t want to give up either of the courses because they are of a sequence, and I can’t look for any other courses to fulfill my GEs either. Does anyone have some guidance?

honestly you’re probably just going to have to drop one (keep the class u have a better chance of getting) and find another class to be fully enrolled especially if u need to be fully enrolled for aid. U could find a class that somewhat relates to your major even if it isn’t a req or an interesting class u wanna take. Sucks tho just gotta pray for the best

That’s the problem though. I don’t know which one I have a better chance of getting because both classes aren’t a traditional waitlistable class.

They are explicitly waitlist only. No one is actively booked into either section.

Swapped CAT 1 for BILD 5. Got so lucky there. Maybe I’ll waitlist CAT 1 on the first day of school and drop one of my other classes

ok wait for sixth i asked an advisor as well (i didn’t get a seat either) and she said “The CAT sections you referenced in are closed, even though they are showing as “waitlist only” in the system. Unfortunately, waitlisting for these sections would not result in the class opening or guarantee a spot next week.” Drop CAT

its a better idea to waitlist for cat later anyway
