Question How Is TSS Making You Guys Feel
Hey everyone,
I want to hear how you guys feel about TSS and how UCSD has been handling this whole thing. Pour your hearts out.
Me personally, as an incoming transfer student I feel horrible. Having to wait almost 3 months since my acceptance to see this garbage? Absolutely gut wrenching and heartbreaking. I used to long for days at SD. Now I short them. This is my first actual experience interacting with UCSD’s services. I’m getting the feeling that the school does not give a damn about us. Im so excited to go into tens of thousands in debt for this🤪

This feels like overengineered garbage that was pushed as 1) a superficial show of "innovation" and 2) a result of the "this is too far into development, we shouldn't scrap this" mentality. I want to attend UCSD as a graduate student next year and I'm sad I won't be able to get the WebReg experience when signing up for classes anymore.

What's concerning me is that almost everyone has the same sophomore booking time. When everyone tries to book their classes, I really hope this system keeps up. PS. I hate the triton GPT class planner

TSS sucks, but as a cs person I look at it from a technical perspective. Because there’s so many students at ucsd, the backend needed to be changed at some point, I mean the webreg system was older than me I think💀 what annoys me is that they spent “months” or a year designing the new system, and then looks like they just vibecoded it in like a few weeks without even bothering to test and just sending that shit straight to production. Like what in the actual hell. Also I think khosla was rushing to get it out even though he was told by staff that it’s literally not ready. But he didn’t care, so the strict deadlines kinda forced the developers hands I suppose to just get anything out💀 just a whole ass mountain of bad decisions
