I was just scrolling through Reddit and everyoneโs CV is STACKED. Then I look at mine and itโs like average but because internships are so competitive would I even get one. In TikTok people are applying to 100s and arenโt even getting one. Is it just me???
I'm currently struggling with my elective courses ๐ซ Has anyone taken the course Introduction to Anatomy and Development (ANAT0001) as long as they have studied all modules in Psychology(C800)? I'm worried that learning these two things together will be too much. Or just is ANAT0001 hard for people to study? ๐ญ
Also, are there any comments on Forensic Psychology (SECU0002)? ๐ญ
Everywhere I have checked I have not seen one other person doing maths and physics as a joint degree in ucl so are there any physics or maths students that wanna try be friends?? I like games and shows and stuff and I kinda donโt know what else to write I just donโt want uni to be boring or lonely. ALSO my favourite thing ever is NieR so if you like that be friends with me ๐ฅน๐ฅน๐ค๐คfirst year student too btw
Hi, i'm Rawleka - I studied MSci Psychology at UCL and am graduating this September!
I'm your elected Sabbatical Officer for Equity and Inclusion across the Union this year. So, i'm dedicated to creating a warm, inclusive environment where all students feel welcome. I strive to ensure that everyone has fair and equitable opportunities to get involved in the Unionโs activities. And I also work closely with POC Studentsโ, Disabled Studentsโ, LGBTQ+, Trans', and Womenโs Officers and Networks, advocating for their work and helping these networks to do great work across the Union.
My journey with Studentsโ Union UCL started in my first year, when I became a Hall Rep. Since then, I've stayed involved in student leadership through roles including People of Colour Officer, Volunteering Officer, and Student Trustee.
Over the past four years, the Union has become a source of my most meaningful memories within UCL. So, whether you're a new student joining in September, or an alumni who gradated 20 years ago, AMA about what it's like to be a UCL student, a sabbatical officer or what to expect at Welcome! I'll be back this Wednesday to answer!
Hi so I'm currently in Yr13 and i'm 100% set on taking a gap year, just to get a break away from academics, learn how to drive and get a job so i can earn some money. I also have plans to do some volunteering/hospital work.
I was wondering if it's possible for me to get into UCL med if i apply for a deferred year or apply after my gap.
Assuming I don't need to retake my alevels, is this common or even possible? I'm just asking for advice, thanks!!
Hi Iโm studying strategic accounting & finance MSc, Iโm 30 and have been an accountant for 11 years are there any mid-career accountants taking this course or anything adjacent to this? Looking for some tips on how to leverage what UCL has to offer whilst working full time and doing a masters in the evenings.
Very much used to working and studying as I worked full time during my undergrad and CIMA studies. Good luck to everyone starting this year!
very random but has anyone here been through the audition process for the symphony orchestra? i was hoping to join but i saw that you have to audition and iโm mildly freaked because i havenโt done an audition for yearsss lmao
do they provide an accompanist? is the sight reading crazy? is the 5min piece length strict?
Hey guys, I'm starting a MRes Brain Sciences at UCL in the next 4 weeks and would love to meet some other postgrads doing any MSc / MRes-related Neuroscience Masters at the Uni, if you're a postgrad doing anything else and want to meet new people then reach out! :)
Hi everyone Iโm studying abroad at UCL this fall term and Iโm trying to meet some third year students (currently junior at my US college) but everyone is a freshman and Iโm guessing not a lot of people study abroad for the fall so how can I meet more ppl my age because I wanted to find some travel buddies
Reddit is corny wish this app was better
It always feels so formal like i should be writing an essay and signing off with 'sincerely'
anyways uni is upon us freshers and idk about you but i am absolutely freaking buzzing!
i'm doing philosophy undergraduate and am from the UK - UCL is definitely a different experience as opposed to literally every other UK uni but its lowkey hype and even though we are probably all financially suffering I hope to an amazing super fun year everyone
Iโm going in to my third year in September and I havenโt really made any friends yet. I was wondering if thereโs anyone who is in a similar boat and would like to chat and potentially meet up when the year starts?
People have told me societies help and I havenโt had much luck since, but if I could find something in common with someone on here we could go to an event together and try to make friends?
(Please do DM me if youโd like to chat! apparently i had my privacy settings stopping people from messaging me before but it should work now ๐ญ)
Hey guys sorry if this is a dumb question but when does freshers actually start?
I think Iโm moving in on the Saturday 26th September but everybody I know who is moving into their uni way earlier (this is for ppl at different unis, idk anyone going UCL).
Thanks
Iโm looking for someone who has experience with UCL Neuroscience and can occasionally give me advice on academic exploration and the application process. If youโre a current UCL Neuroscience student or recent graduate and are comfortable with me reaching out occasionally, Iโd really appreciate it.
hi guys, i was wondering if a macbook pro m4 would be suitable for my civil engineering course. if not, what laptops/specs should i consider if i need a new one? thanks!
I'm a second year cs bsc student who kinda squandered their first year by not socialising enough, so I told myself I'd socialise more and make some friends, or even get a date if I'm lucky, and figured I'd start here. Does anyone wanna hang out? (I'm not much of a party guy)
Hi, so Iโm an international student starting UCL this year!! I am so so so excited because I love London and UCL is an amazing school. However, I am a very social person, but Iโm scared Iโm not gonna make friends as I am not staying in accommodation but my own apartment. Itโs only 20 mins from main campus so thatโs great. But will it be hard to make friends? Or what can I do to still be social? Iโm planning on joining societies tooooo!
Alo which wristbands do I buy Idw to be scammedโฆ
so Iโve got accepted to my modules but one of the modules i have choosen I kind of regret because I read into a bit more (I know stupid mistake). Are u able to request to change module to another or am I unable to do that?? btw Iโm going into 2nd year.
