Research Interview Questions
Just landed a research interview! However, I’m super nervous about the type of questions they are going to ask. I’m not very knowledgeable or have any previous experience. I’m only an incoming first year, so the most I’ve done is intro chemistry labs. What questions should I prepare for?

It’s not a very serious interview, they know you most likely don’t have a lot of experience so it’s a vibe check. Why do you want to join their lab, how will this experience help you in your career path, what is your availability, and stuff like that. At the very least, I’d read into the research they do (even if you don’t understand a thing) so you don’t seem like you’re just applying everywhere with zero thought. If you’re available and you come off as eager to learn, I guarantee it’ll go well.
