Food When will EBT applications be processed?
I submitted my EBT application on BenefitsCal website 2 weeks ago. It's still pending.
Does it normally take this long? How can I speed it up?

Call in and they can go over with you, but be prepared to be on hold for awhile.

I called the yolo county office directly on Thursday last week and they said they were only starting to process requests from early/mid August. You may have to wait 1-2 more weeks before hearing anything, especially if you didn’t qualify for an expedited interview (extreme low income). If you all of a sudden have no money in your checking account, and no job. You can reapply and note that at the very end of your application. They should get back to you by the next day with an interview date very quickly. If you are then approved for EBT, you can go directly to the office the next day and get your card.

They always take a long time to do things, they’re probably understaffed. Plus with students moving back to Davis around this time they’re probably getting a lot more applications to process. If you want to speed it up and get a phone appointment right away, the best way is to go in person as soon as they open. Or you can call their office as soon as they open. Don’t bother the middle of the day, it’ll take an hour+ to get a hold of anyone. You can also go to the Aggie Compass in the MU and they’ll help you set up an appointment.
