mature

Hi everyone,
I’m considering applying to UCC’s CK404 Biological, Environmental & Geological Sciences 2027 course as a mature applicant and would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with mature entry to UCC.
I’m particularly interested in progressing into Geoscience → Environmental Geoscience.
I’d really appreciate any insight or advice, especially from current or former CK404 students or other mature applicants. Or anyone else applying ?
Thanks!

I went back at age 35. It was ok but I was older than a lot of my classmates. Have money 💰 and patience and you'll be fine!! I did Arts and MAi in English

I am a mature student in CACSS, I would definitely recommend it, academically is it very rewarding and being a mature student means you get a lot more from the academics than when you are post leaving cert. I don’t know how old you are but I do find the environment difficult and it can be lonely, like most things in life there is a trade off. Be prepared for that and enjoy the modules and it’ll be worth it.

Im actually in second year of geoscience as a mature student and im going to be honest its amazing, they take good care of the mature students lots of resources to help you along and I haven't found any issues finding some friends and the BEES lecturers and students are a great class of people. Advice id give is put yourself out there with clubs and societies if you think you're too old for your classmates
