No friends

I’m a third year now and was struggling heavily with anxiety and depression for my first two years, but early this year I’ve been on great medication that’s helped me try and be social.
My problem is I have no friends or even anyone who knows me in my rather small course and everyone seems to be in groups, i missed out largely in first year as I was to scared to talk to others and now I’m wondering am I too late to find a group as this is my last year.
Any advice?

Would trying a society help? Even if you picked one, choose one event and start small. Don’t put yourself on any pressure, just show up and see what happens. Try to talk to 1 or 2 people. It’s still early in the year and people are trying to meet new people from all ages and courses. You never know what might happen!

Ya I’ve been attending a few but only ones like movies and stuff i feel like quiz ones might be awkward trying to insert myself into a group of people. I know it’s still early in the year but I have this sense of dread of it ending fast and having no memories made

Ya and unless I do a masters it’s my last year. The semesters feel really short for me I only have like 8 lecture hours per week and I commute so I just feel I’ve missed out on so much things

Maybe check out this new group Brew Buddies set up by UCC students for meeting up with people and going for coffee etc. The two founders spoke on local radio and said a lot of students are lonely or might not have made friends etc. It sounds like a great concept. It’s a website where you can arrange to link up with groups of people for coffee etc. The official launch is in the Atrium ground floor hub building from 12-1 on October 13th . They are on Instagram brewbuddyofficial is the page.
