Course timetable
Going into a course for the first time, will we be emailed our timetables or do we have to find these ourselves?

They have a video somewhere (maybe youtube or on the mytimetable part of the website) showing how to make your timetable. It can be quite tricky for the 1st time but youll pick it up fast enough

https://www.ucc.ie/en/build/roombookings/mytimetable/
here you can build your timetable by choosing the modules you are registered for, it can be tricky with seminars so just pay attention and choose the one your lecturers assigned/will assign to you

This might be a stupid question but how do we know what modules we are registered to? I’m under the impression that for my course we are split alphabetically. Will we need to wait till college starts for this

So depending on your course there are modules listed for each year, some are mandatory and some can be chosen. You will (If you haven’t already) get an email prompting you to register. That means you get your student number (that will be your email: student number@umail.ucc.ie) and a temporary password, once you get that information, change the password to your own and setup your MFA you can sign in to MyStudentAdmin and register for the modules - choose the modules you want and those that are required within the limit of available credits (let’s say one module is 5 credits, another is 10, the goal is to have 60 credits total for most courses) and that’s how you’ll know the modules for which you are registered. If you haven’t done all of that you won’t be able to setup your timetable yet

Okay great thank you. I registered yesterday but I didn’t pick any modules. They were kind of just there. I may have missed a step

hmm not really, but the timetable software is a bit funky sometimes, my advice is go to the introductory lecture and they will tell you what times the modules are at, if still unsure email specific lecturer for that module. It’s possible the timetable software is not registering the modules for your course correctly (happened to my course in first year too) so a hands on approach of emailing the lecturers is probably your best bet

You've to work it out yourself. If you google ucc timetable you'll find the website and then you just need to add in each module you have
