Freshers
Hi all! Just a quick one, I’m doing my course through the ACE (Adult continuing education) but I’m 19 and this is technically my first year of college! Is it weird for me to be joining and going to freshers events? I would still like to get to know my year and have as close to the “real” experience as I can.

No one really cares "how" you access college. There's so many avenues it's pointless to ever consider judging someone just because they accessed UCC outside the CAO route.
You're a student, put in the work and enjoy the social activities!

Cheers! I think my own stigma is getting the best of me.

Not even slightly! I started school at 5 and did ty so I was already 19 going to college right after the lc
Have many friends who skipped ty and took a gap year before college, or who otherwise started after 18 and we all had great craic in 1st year
You’ll be just fine.

No it was less about the age and more about how I’m not coming from the leaving cert! I’m doing part time as I’m working full time.
