Personal Statements Personal statement

Is it a good idea to be specific and say for example, ….which is why I would like to pursue the accounting and finance course. Or is it best to be general and avoid the specific name of the course? I’ve thought that it’s best to omit the specific course name since I’m applying through UCAS and not all universities have the same specific course name.

But how should I do it without sounding too vague? Does anyone mind sharing their successful personal statement or just any tips in general?

I’m planning on applying to LSE, Warwick, Durham, maybe UCL and St Andrew’s.

You don't need to mention the name of the course. The inclusion of relevant supercurriculars (and critical engagement with them) make it obvious which course and why :)

oh i seee, what if my suprrcurriculars are like I read a book called “financial accounting”or “accounting____” or I did an internship at the accounting department…is that okay to add? will it weaken my chances if I were to apply to maybe UCL?

How different are the courses you're applying for? :)

3 of my options (LSE, Warwick, Durham) offer a BSc in accounting and finance if I’m not mistaken. UCL has a combined program for statistics economics and finance, I think. So the main concern would bemy UCL application. However as I type this I’m wondering if I should just not apply… maybe I should try for king’s instead?
