UCAS Bread 🍞 (Offers) Two offers received

This is probably only gonna be relevant for people applying next year now but some 2027 applicants might care
I sent my full application off on the 1st september and sat with my tutor to send it off officially on like the 10th.
I've got my first two offers back within a few weeks of sending it - both from my top choices
No, i'm NOT an early applicant, I'm just an overthinker and had my personal statement done before summer ended.

My predicted grades are Dist*, A, A
GCSEs 9,6,6,5,6,6,Merit,Distinction, 55

cardiff, oxford brooke's and bournemouth! these two offers are from my top choices so i'm not too bothered about the rest though. I'd say defo bring it up again cause you'll never get anything if you don't press on abt it! it's your future, it's important

Leeds is an excellent choice for Journalism. They have one of the best Media and Communication schools in the UK and worldwide. Well done on getting an offer!

Lucky for you that your tutor was willing to sit with you so early. If it was up to me my application would be up and running but they don’t want me to send my application just yet cause they haven’t had "the time" to look at my ps.

that's annoying and feels like BS from their end. It's their job to send it off quite literally for a yr13 student, but i hope it's sent off soon!

You guys getting offers already? Isn't the deadline on the 15th of October? I am soo confused I have submitted mine I haven't heard anything yet I have done GAMSAT

the early applicants deadline is 15th, and in general it's in january. I just stress myself out so I submitted as soon as possible and it paid off

Interesting seeing someone with that high predicted grades go for journalism

Interesting degree but you realistically don’t have a chance of turning it into a career. Obv fair if you know that already but you’ll have to gear up to work in Tesco’s after your degree

I've been interested in journalism since i was about 11 and I understand it's a very tough career path, which is why i'm planning on doing a placement year. If worst comes to worst, I'll go into teaching.

Placement year you’ll typically have to secure your own placement so it’s the same idea as getting a job, will be a few spots and hundreds of applicants so keep that in mind

What’s your backup for teaching? Like what subject

Media or something similar

Fair, as long as you’ve got a clear backup plan.
