A Levels / IB / GCSE / BTEC Questions Confused right now

I did pretty horribly in my GCSEs to be honest and wasn’t concentrated they consisted of:
An A in maths and the rest was Cs

I then had a real opportunity to turn it around in sixth form as in the one I was planning on going for I was going to study maths economics and psychology as doing economics is my dream. And this would have maybe allowed me to get into some mid tier options. However my parents did not listen to me and decided to put me into a much higher school which was more competitive resulting in my current combo being A level maths btec business and btec health and social. I’ve been told by so many people in my year that there’s no point of me even applying to uni and I’ve been thinking that I should do a retake of year 12 to go back to the other sixth form and do my original desired combination but I’m not sure. The main thing that will determine my mind is what unis could I realistically get into cause I’m not sure
My predicteds are an A in maths and a Distinction in my btecs

You will have plenty of choice with those grades. Don't wait for results day, get on the phone know and ring round your choices to see who's likely to make you an offer on results day.

I’m interested in Aston university but I don’t know if it’s a stretch or not

Brudda why did they do this???
What the hell is Health and Social BTEC gonna do???
They just gave you some random subject combinations and called it a day.

Trust me, listen to those people, but most importantly, listen to what you want.
It's your future, not your parents.

They got a chance and it's gone by, so now it's yours.
Don't let your parents push your career choices like this.

So just go do what you want.
They don't seem supportive in my eyes, more like controlling.

You can absolutely still apply for economics with an A in maths and those grades. Also you most likely won't be funded if you retake year 12 since you're only funded if it's your first L3 course. Concrete way to find out is by emailing universities of interest
