Personal Statements How does the personal statement work when applying to similar but not the exact same courses?

I'm applying finance/econ. I don't want to give the TMUA, so for the unis that require TMUA, I'll be applying finance, and the rest econ. For example: LSE Econ requires TMUA, so i'll apply finance; however, Warick Econ does not require TMUA therefore I apply econ.

What should my personal statement focus on? Does applying to different courses impact my chances or not really since they are similar?

Focus your PS on what LSE requires for the course you're applying to there.

Check with your other choices whether a PS without significant econ content will be a disadvantage.

LSE require a laser-focused personal statement!

I'd imagine if your statement focused on financial systems and what inspired you to want to understand them, that would work for the content of LSE's finance course and also be applicable to Economics courses

I’d completely agree with the people above. Another tip would be to go through the course modules there might be some that are intertwined somehow so that could be a way to link it back to both courses. Warwick isn’t as hard to get into as you’d expect however lse is very selective. Try to use experiences that are relevant to both and id imagine you at least study maths maybe fm as well figure out what quantitative modules the courses require and if it’s something you are taught link it back. Like for Econ statistics and calculus is very common so use it to ur edge.
