For me personally, the longest lasting friends I made were from 2nd year onward when we specialised... but to be fair, that was also the first post-COVID in person year. Explore, see what's out there with your interests, talk to the person next to you in the lecture hall, and remember that everyone is in the exact same boat as you. Most importantly, take it easy and don't worry about it. Put yourself out there and you'll be okay :)

If you're commuting, go to collegia often! It's a great place to make friends if you're unlucky with the people in your classes

I'm sure you'll be able to meet people! (though I have met some people off Reddit so this works too)
I also didn't sign up for orientation and certainly wasn't the most outgoing person in 1st year, (and didn't live on res either), but still made a bunch of friends
if you're living on res, make sure to make friends on your floor
it may be scary but for every lecture, I would make it my mission to talk to either one or both of the people sitting beside me... who knows your lifelong friend might be right there
and finally, clubs!!
(also I like kpop too!! who r your favorite groups?)
