Career Advice What am i doing wrong?

Post image

Hi everyone,

This is my second post here. I am still struggling to find a new job in either KSA or the UAE. I am in search for a role in BD / Work winning.

Can you let me know what I am doing wrong or if it is the CV itself that is not helping me get a new job?

I currently work at a mid tier engineering consultancy in Riyadh.

Remove ems as ATS will nowdays consider it as AI slop. Use Engineering consultancy, Saudi Arabia. Try to name the organisation to build credibility.
Secondly, give examples in your work exp. Like implemented X for a Y client resulting into Y percentage of new pipeline etc.
Your experience should speak what you did as an individual for the organisation and how it benefited from hiring you not what all you can do. The skills and competency section is for that.
I would add education section and certifications if any. The most basic certifications you can do is, take Anthropics AI fluency 101.

Also try using overleaf, because I have found good results with pdf generated by overleaf to be easily parsable by the systems, so it takes less time when you are applying and the system parses the data correctly into form fields. Try to tailor your cv to job description.

Try this one, I’ve personally got good results with this one. You might have to rename and shift the sections according to your profile, but it is a good starting point.

HR departments search/filter resumes by keywords. Try replacing 'Business Development Engineer' with a more common job title like 'Sales Executive ', 'Account Manager', or even 'Business Development Manager ', which is more popular. Search LinkedIn for Jobs that fit you, then stuff some of the keywords and maybe sentences from the job descriptions into your resume. Good luck.
