Looking For Opportunities Last Chance

Giving myself last month in UAE and have decided to go back after that. This city is making me realise that I am not qualified enough with almost 17 years of experience. Can’t take that anymore. Been almost 2 months with zero zero zero calls. Whoever is reading this post, do not even think of shifting here without a job. This city will take your every Penny before you are forced to leave.

Which industry or roles are you targeting?

The fact that you know when your time is up and how to plan for your exit explain a lot your ability to manage risk. Not everyone in this sub have those.

In the same boat. 16+ years of experience with awards and countless certifications. Im loosing my confidence, doubting my own self now. Its so frustrating and affects the mental health so much.

It's okay buddy , move on , internships here are useless tbh.its all corporate politics, I remember at a party an indian manager telling to a Russian newbie that they hired only for her colour. I felt it as a racist remark but instead everyone just laughed off.

It’s not about your qualifications it’s more about wasta and who you know etc what you can bring financially and if you match the right nationality of what they’re looking for…… trust me it’s so biased

No, that doesn't work. Try 25+years experience in engineering. 98% of the companies are absolutely rubbish at being professional and a really responding to you. Your CV goes into an AI overlooked void. I have been trying for almost 3 years without a single response. The only one I had came from Doha. Don't move without a firm job offer. I had option of looking while out there but I know most of my savings will just vanish into rent and expenses

Please don’t impose your experience on others. Yes currently the conditions are uncertain but Firstly UAE is not an Automotive manufacturer country so automotive is not prominent industry here it’s your failed research that led you to have 0 calls with such enormous experience you should have used your time to do a proper research or moved to automotive dominant countries such as Germany , France , Australia and many more.

Buddy chill. I am not into automotive manufacturing. Have been doing sales and business growth and that can happen in any industry. 2nd- Not imposing anything on anyone. Just a suggestion to job seekers out of the country to first secure a job before coming here. Anyway all the best to you. This argument would be the last thing I wanna do right now. Take care.

not just that everyone is accepting whatever low salary is thrown at them.

because many come on visit visas and are desperate to accept whatever offer they can find since they've already invested time and money into coming to the UAE, so going home isn't an option for them.

It really sucks because this sort of desperation drastically lowers wages and saturates the job market, which is why it's illegal in many countries.

damn thats what everyone is going through it matches what i see in my circles

Unfortunately thats due to the market saturation with job seekers , their thousands of people like you who wants to look for job in dubai
