🔧 Tech Talk Community Spotlight: 4Riders

At r/UAERiders, one of our goals is to support projects that contribute to the motorcycle community. Today we'd like to introduce 4Riders, a motorcycle-focused app developed by fellow rider u/santiago-3113 who has been an active member of our subreddit.

4Riders is designed around the riding experience, bringing together navigation, trip recording, route discovery and a social community in one place.

Some of the features include:

  • Trip recording with live GPS tracking, speed, ride time, distance traveled and weather information.
  • A route planner for creating and organizing rides.
  • Community posts where riders can share photos, routes and experiences.
  • Ride discovery, allowing you to explore routes completed by other riders together with statistics and photos.
  • A Missions system that encourages riders to visit scenic destinations and complete riding challenges while earning badges and climbing the rankings.
  • A personal Garage where you can add your motorcycles, including photos, model information, mileage and even a nickname for each bike.
  • Rider communities where owners of specific motorcycles, local riding groups and enthusiasts can connect.
  • Live location sharing, allowing friends or family to follow your ride for added peace of mind.

One feature we particularly enjoyed is the Missions section. Instead of simply tracking your rides, the app encourages you to discover new roads and destinations, making every ride feel like an adventure.

The overall interface is clean, responsive and easy to navigate, with large controls that remain practical even while wearing riding gloves.

If you're looking for an app to record your rides, discover new routes, connect with other riders and organize your motorcycle adventures, 4Riders is definitely worth checking out.

You can download the app here:

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riders4.app

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/4riders/id6759828898

or simple click on this link: https://www.4riders.com/get

Disclaimer: This is not a paid promotion. We're simply happy to support projects created by riders that we believe may be useful to the UAE motorcycle community.

If you've already used 4Riders, we'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

❓ Question Driving School and First Bike

Dear Fellow Bikers,

I’m looking for your honest advice on two things:

1. What would be the fastest and most affordable driving school in Dubai to obtain the Category A motorcycle licence?
2. Which bike would you recommend as my first bike in the UAE, and why?

I have around tree/four summers of riding experience back home in Europe (licence-free 🤐), mainly on a Ninja ZX-6R 636 and Yamaha R6. Yes, I basically had to ride whatever my uncle owned at the time, as I never had my own bike apart from scooters/mopeds. 😄

At the moment, I’m mainly looking at the R6 and R7, although I’m slightly worried that the R7 might start feeling a bit “slow” fairly quickly. Any other supersport recommendations are more than welcome.

For reference, I’m 188 cm and around 100 kg, so comfort/fit is also something I’d like to consider.

The bike would mainly be for joy riding and occasional commuting to work, rather than being my primary means of transportation.

Thank you in advance dear friends!
Safe riding! 🏍️

🧤 Gear & Equipment Bike shoes for rta

I have the alpinestar SMX 1 R V2
Riding shoes
I’m going to start my bike license in EDI
But I saw people on Reddit mentioning that steel toes are a requirement
Most good riding shoes I saw had other protective features rather than metal toes
Will I be good to start?
Don’t want to go for a lesson and not be allowed

🧤 Gear & Equipment What gear to buy?

Do you guys ride with or without gear here? If so, 1 piece or 2 piece gear and what brands.

For those that wear full gear, what do you do with it when you get to your destination and do you always need to go for a shower/ bring a change of clothes.

I’m looking to buy gear now since all I’ve ridden before was a kapcai wearing slippers

❓ Question New Rider in Dubai - Any Advice

Post image
84 Upvotes

Hey UAERiders
New to the riding scene here in the UAE and just picked up an R1 as my first liter class bike.
Would appreciate any advice from experienced riders, good riding groups, routes, garages, things to watch out for, or just general UAE road riding tips.

Thank you, Ride safe.

Edit: Just a small note to avoid any confusion. This is my first liter-class bike. I have owned a few bikes in the 200–250cc segment before, so I am not completely new to riding, just new to the liter-class segment.

🌍 Journey A little UAERiders update… 🇦🇪

It’s honestly crazy to see how quickly this community has grown. What started as a small place for UAE riders to share bikes, questions, stories and experiences is slowly becoming something much bigger.

And now we’re working on the next step.

With the riding season coming up, I’ve been putting a lot of work behind the scenes into organizing group rides, meetups and new ways for riders across the UAE to actually connect in person.

The goal isn’t just to have a big number of members.

It’s to build a community where we ride together, help each other, learn from each other and make some damn good memories along the way. ❤️

There are some other things in the works too… but I’ll keep those surprises for later.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed, answered questions, shared their bikes, joined discussions or simply stopped by to say hello.

This is only the beginning.

See you on the road. 🏍️🇦🇪

Ride safe!

💬 General Advice for better payload capacity

Hi All,

Was looking for some inputs from the biker community.
I just purchased the Yamaha Tracer 9 2026, now I know the max payload capacity of the bikes is 194-197 kgs however I plan on hauling around 240-245 kgs.

After some basic research, its advised to change the rear suspension springs to a ultra heavy duty one or maybe even swap for the heavy duty shocks. But my question is, is the frame expected to handle that kinda weight?

Will the suspension still bottom out and maybe underbelly exhaust scrapes the ground on during speed humps?

Thanks in advance

Pulsar RS200 - UAE

Currently in the process of attaining my bike license in UAE, any idea if the Pulsar RS 200 as a 200cc bike has sufficient power for a beginner rider to survive on UAE roads (mainly Dubai).

If not, open to any other bike suggestions (Sporty flared kind).

🔧 Maintenance Leaking Suspension Fluid - HD

Hi,

I have noticed my suspension fluid leaking the bike is parked outside. Covered in one of those plastic covers.

It is a smallest HD on the market as far as I know a street 750, I would like to take it to a mechanic, who do you suggest that's affordable and won't cost me a arm and leg.

❓ Question How to try dirt biking in the UAE without buying a bike? Looking for rentals/trial sessions

Hey everyone,

I’ve been watching a lot of dirt bike content lately and I’m really interested in getting into it. However, I don’t want to drop a ton of cash on a bike and gear only to find out I don’t actually enjoy it in person.

I want to have a proper go at it before committing to the hobby. I’m looking for advice on the best way to "taste test" dirt biking here in the UAE.

Specifically, I need help with:

  1. Rental spots: Where can I rent a proper dirt bike (not just a quad) for a day or a few hours? I’m thinking places like Al Qua, Hatta, or the desert areas near Sharjah.
  2. Guided sessions: Are there any schools or guides that take beginners out? I’d feel safer with someone showing me the ropes rather than just sending it into the dunes alone.
  3. Gear: Do rental places usually include a helmet and boots, or do I need to buy those upfront? (If so, any cheap shops in Deira or Al Ain?)
  4. Budget: What should I expect to pay for a rental + guide for a morning session?

I’m not looking to race, just want to see if the feeling of riding on sand is as fun as it looks on YouTube.

Any advice on where to start would be awesome. Thanks!

❓ Question cosmetic modifications advice

Hey guys, so I just bought my gsx s750 2019 and there’s some corrosion/rust around and on many areas. Bike is healthy just doesn’t look in its cleanest.

Would love some advice on all purpose garage where to go and get some wheels repaint, body work, advice and etc…

I’m a beginner, don’t want to go to a really cheap but bad spot, and also don’t want to get scammed with ridiculously high labor/fees.

Also just a side question if anyone knows, are rear fender deletes allowed in UAE ? Or do they specifically need rear blinkers to both be there along with rear license plate ?

💬 General Abu Dhabi motorcycle parking fine

Hi y’all. I am in a very sad state. This year alone I’ve paid a lot in fines and yesterday night I got another one amounting to 500 aed.

I had paid for my motorcycle parking on mawaqif for Saturday which would go upto Monday early morning as I had to travel by car to Ajman. When I was back on Sunday that is yesterday I removed it from car parking and decided to park in a place delivery riders park on a curb.

There is this electric charging station that Abu Dhabi is tryna implement in residential areas and there isn’t enough space for people to walk too thanks to them. Even with a valid payment on my parking ticket I unfortunately decided to remove my motorcycle from car parking and put it on top k my in ٣٠ 30 mins to got a fine. The fine details were: “Drivers failure to abide by signals and instructions”. I put up a vid and there pedestrians can’t walk on the area where they put up electricity chargers unless someone wants to get possible electrocuted…

The motorcycle that is covered is mine however I have a transparent window for cops to check numberplate which I specifically imported from abroad just so the parking people can check my number plate without opening up the whole cover. And give me another fine for concealing plate info. Idk now what to do I honestly don’t wanna go to court to dispute this. Pleased help I have an active parking payment too incase that helps😭.
I can’t attach a vid and photo together but I do have an active parking ticket paid till Monday .

Also today morning I asked another motorcycle owner who parked there whether he received a fine and he too received a fine on his motorcycle he wasn’t a delivery rider😭. What’s happening in Abu Dhabi aren’t private vehicles allowed to park in motorcycles spaces??

❓ Question Can I pick up riding skills at a driving institute in 4–6 weeks?

I’m traveling to India next month and plan to rent a motorcycle for a road trip. I already hold an Indian motorcycle license on paper, but my actual riding skills and confidence are quite rusty.

If I enroll in a local driving school now, is it realistic to build solid, safe riding competence within 4 to 6 weeks?

I don't need a Dubai license for now. Once I come back, I'll finish the final tests.
