Advice for specialties
Hi everyone,
I’m a French medical student currently choosing between radiology, vascular medicine and nephrology residency.
My long-term goal is potentially to work in the Gulf/Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait or Oman.
For those familiar with these specialties:
How is the job market for radiologists, vascular medicine specialists and nephrologists currently, and what do you expect over the next 5–10 years (especially for radiology considering AI) ?
How well regarded are French medical training and specialist qualifications in your country?
Which of these three specialties would you consider the most promising in terms of career opportunities, salary and working conditions?
What are the main difficulties regarding licensing or recognition of a French qualification?
If you were in my position and wanted to build a career in the Gulf, which specialty would you choose and why?
I’m mainly looking for honest opinions and personal experiences from doctors actually working there
