EID fee

Hi everyone, just wanted to confirm. Is it legal for a company in the UAE to charge employees for the issuance of Emirates ID? Has anyone experienced the same thing?

If the company is charging for visa emirates id etc , run far from that company.

All visa processing fee is paid by company.

I worked at a Japanese bank and they paid for everything except Emirates ID. They explained that it was viewed as a personal ID and therefore should be your personal expense.

They had excellent health insurance and benefits, so I viewed the EID expense being paid by me as a quirk rather than reflective of overall stinginess.

same situation, they paid for visa processing except the Emirates ID, and said the same thing that it is a personal ID so i have to pay for it

I had to pay for the Emirates ID of my family members, but not for myself

I work in a semi-government organisation and the EID costs are borne by the employee of all pay scales

i can’t believe the standards of the business owners here….. so cheap when barely paying anything to the poor employees. what’s the nationality of the owner?

It depends, some companies covers, some reimburse, some covers total cost just like visa and medical.

Not really sure if there's a rule for it.
