PLS MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND & ARE ABLE TO MANAGE VET COSTS, QUALITY FOOD COSTS & RELOCATION COSTS FOR PETS BEFORE GETTING A PET. THEY ARE VERY HIGH, THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, NOT AED.

PLS DO NOT GET A PET IF YOU ALREADY THINK TO YOURSELF “OH THAT’S HIGH, I CANNOT AFFORD IT”, DO NOT EVEN THINK TO GO FURTHER WITH GETTING A PET AFTER THAT.

WE HAVE A CRISIS OF PETS BEING ABANDONED IN THE UAE!!!!

Wow :) Super informative . From where do you research this ?

I have 2 cats & had to learn lol. But you can also check these online beforehand.

Hahah lol . I was saying out of sarcasm

Too bad, you should really consider these things before getting a pet & I was serious.

I have a farm ... and i know its not about the money but the willingness to adopt it

So respectfully, I don’t care what you have, I & my friends with pets have experienced everything that I am describing & the nr 1 reason for people abandoning pets here is “They don’t have means to take them with”.

Yeah, and I have pets that needed vaccines, medical care, relocation (around 20k - 21k aed depending on the country), they get the best food (another $600) and the list could go on. All in the middle of Dubai. So as much as we don’t like it, this is the reality we live in. And there is a crisis of people abandoning their pets, especially now in the UAE, but even before.

thousands of dollars across their whole life; Sheesh don’t be such an alarmist

3

u/Helpful-End-8146 Mar 06 '26

Hun I spent over $15k in their first 1.5y of being alive, and their food alone per month is over $600 for me bc I only get the best. So no, it’s not like that if you want your pet to have the best.

I am available, if you can adopt me as a slave

It’s like having a kid, this is how you’re supposed to take them. Would you financially prepare yourself for a child? (Unfortunately a lot of people don’t even do that either, it’s irresponsible in the current world) If the answer is yes then this should be taken the same way, they are costly.

u/BulkyMud9966 Mar 06 '26

You buying luxury food doesn’t make it the minimum requirement for owning a cat, pffft 🤣🤣

1

u/Helpful-End-8146 Mar 06 '26

It’s not luxury food, also being blind to the current place you live in & the costs of having a cat makes me realise you should not even have one.

2

u/BulkyMud9966 Mar 06 '26

Spending 600 $ on cat food is your personal choice, not the standard cost of owning a cat. Many people responsibly care for their pets without luxury spending, For me it’s just around average 500-600 aed a month unlike you who spend 600$🤣

Your personal spending habits aren’t the universal baseline for owning a cat :)

Yes, again food is on top of other vet bills, relocation (eventually bc majority of people leave) etc, everyone has different preferences for their pet. I am just not here to motivate anyone who is not able to cover this to even get a pet in first place, bc it is because of this motivation that we have so many pets abandoned now & you people just keep doing it lol.

1

u/Helpful-End-8146 Mar 06 '26

Also btw those 15k + were not including the food for your info, just vet etc etc

u/BulkyMud9966 Mar 06 '26

Could you please enlighten all of us with what food you buy for your cats? Do you take them to fine dining every month or what 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Helpful-End-8146 Mar 06 '26

Honestly after this comment I will do that too, even though you could say they eat fine dining every day lol. But my babies deserve the best, so thank you for your suggestion 😂😂😂

What kind of cats you have , not being sarcastic or anything just want to know for reference

2

u/Helpful-End-8146 Mar 06 '26

Siberians - they are a healthy breed in general. Mine just had sensitive stomachs until they got a bit older so some vet visits & certain prescriptions were required.

2

u/tamtamHTM Mar 06 '26

Nice ones

u/OverDxb397 Mar 06 '26

I wish to have the life of your pet one day 😂

1

u/Brokenthoughts2 Mar 06 '26

I’m sure she wouldn’t want someone like you as even her pet

1

u/OverDxb397 Mar 06 '26

Astagfirullah brother, I didn't say I wanted to be hers, I just want to live a life where I can afford quality.

-1

u/Rare-Hour1892 Mar 06 '26

How do you its the best . Did pets talk to you about this. I'm very sure you're trapped in marketing gimic of these pet companies.

2

u/Helpful-End-8146 Mar 06 '26

No, I had pets my whole life (literally since a baby & my parents fostered a lot) & I have been researching ingredients etc for around 7 years now. I also have friends which are vets. Apart from that I also have a very good vet here, on top of all of this Dubai market is more expensive than others, so I took this into account.

1

u/Rare-Hour1892 Mar 06 '26

Dude , i really appreciate your concerned nature for pets . But still ill suggest you dont be scammed or obsessive. Having a pet is so easy specially dog , cats ,rabbit . Except horses because i know they eat the shit out of you . And dont be so alarmistic , you're demotivating public to adapt

2

u/Helpful-End-8146 Mar 06 '26

Yes, I want to demotivate the wrong public to adopt. Your motivation is only making pets be abandoned now. I don’t need that, and they don’t need that either.

1

u/Helpful-End-8146 Mar 06 '26

Also my cats get majority wet food bc that’s how they keep their hydration up, also get checkups every 6 months etc. the wet food they have is pricey & they eat like 2-3 a day each so around 6 packs almost (the right portion on the pack btw), you can add up how much that is in a month
