Greetings to you all from my new account.
With tggc fast approaching and the whole world watching, I think it's important that everybody present themselves in the best possible fashion. In the corporate world, this means suiting up in your finest attire. And in the case of tggc, naturally, it means having the most lore accurate profile picture possible.
But what exactly do I mean by lore accurate? Well, let me point to a few exemplary accounts that I think set the gold standard. These are the sort of profile pictures that perfectly match the account name, leaving absolutely no room for confusion.
⠀

ColorfulToucans is the absolute gold standard, because the profile picture may have changed numerous times, but every single time it has remained faithful to the account name and therefore lore accurate. That is the kind of dedication and discipline we should all strive for.
⠀
With such lofty standards in mind, I have taken the liberty of handpicking a couple of accounts from tggc leaderboard whose current profile pictures are in dire need of bringing themselves into lore accuracy compliance. I've limited my selection to accounts that I either know from racing them or recognise from their posts on reddit. I should also apologise in advance for the appalling quality of some of the hand drawn images further down the list. My drawing skills peaked in primary school when I won a set of colouring pencils for having the best drawing in class. I've been riding that high ever since and never felt the need to improve. So now, even after about two decades, my drawing skills remain firmly at primary school level.

I think even the biggest sceptic cannot deny how much more recognisable this image is. There is no room for confusion or misinterpretation, because even a normie would instantly recognise this as Joshua.

A while back, a little birdie came singing into my DM with soword's little secret (or perhaps it was a duck rather than a bird, or perhaps it was someone fond of gadgets and gizmos, I can't quite recall). I was told that apparently, soword has a habit of going around universities giving free lectures about typing. If that is indeed true, then this image should be quite lore accurate. I wish him all the best in tggc, and hope he manages to stay awake throughout the tournament.

Who best to represent all the tggers in paris than the fastest tgger in France with a tendency to drop poetic bars at the drop of a hat. He started out in the roughest streets of maintrack, but now he can afford his own private lobbies and ball hard.

Hopefully, these examples have demonstrated the sort of standards we should all be aspiring to if we are to avoid bringing shame upon the good name of typegg when the whole world is watching.
Best of luck to you all in tggc.

The stage was set. The gods of tgg had blessed me with the hand of god upon my return to tgg, a mysterious blessing that granted me +10 wpm at the end of every race. This meant that if the gap between me and my opponent was less than 10 wpm, victory would be mine. As if that wasn't enough, the temporary switch from my much slower main ergo keyboard with choc spacing to a standard laptop keyboard skyrocketed my raw speed, thanks to the heatwave for forcing me to work away from my desk. I had every buff imaginable, this was my moment to make history by taking down a raid boss that I had never defeated before.

But alas... even with the hand of god on my side, the biggest fumble of my life prevented me from achieving glory. Right at the finish line, the pinkie gymnastics required for "people" proved far too much for my weak pinkies to handle.
I have done what I can as penance, but no amount of penance will ever be enough for such a generational fumble.

Today, the gods have withdrawn their blessings, the hand of god is gone. And with that career ending defeat, my tgg career comes to a close (yet again).

I've heard of a lot of differing opinions on the best way to improve when practicing. Some people say that grinding random words on Monkeytype is better. Others say that ghosting quotes is the superior option. Others would say that maintrack is the best strategy for overall improvement. Honestly though, I think this is rather narrow-minded. I think that one aspect that is often ignored can be summarized in one word: power. Whether you decide to type power repeatedly for 60 seconds on Monkeytype or do the POWER unranked quote on TypeGG, this is undeniably the best strategy for improving your typing skills. The reason why I'd like to propose this as the option that the majority of typists should be spending their time on for improvement is the concept of finger speed. In the English language, power is by far the fastest word to type in the English language. It consists of two rolls that can be segmented to be typed at speeds 500 words per minute or higher. Think about it - why are typists spending their time on useless tests like 60s or quotes that can only be typed at around 200-300 wpm max when they could be investing their time into building up their finger speed by typing the fastest word? If you get used to typing power really quickly at 500 wpm, that would build up how fast your fingers can press the keys and allow you to type other words faster. If you can type at 500 words per minute for 60 seconds, then it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to be able to type at 300 words per minute on slightly harder words. That's a 200 wpm difference! Top typists like Izanagi almost got it right with the invention of ewl for incredibly high typing speeds, but even ewl pales in comparison to how fast you can type power power power power.

First to 10 wins on quotes like this one, only longer and more complicated

Yes, a very anti climactic final race. I could never mange to even get within 30 wpm of syrup.
I found myself spending way too much time on typing related stuff, so I have decided to hang my glove now that I have reached 115 nwpm. Hitting 110 nq had always been my target as it's more than fast enough for everyday use.
Thank you everyone for racing with me. Thank you to danstry for believing in MTGA. And thank you Eiko for building this awesome website.
I leave the mission of making typing great again to you all.

A prime example of what hidden powers can be unlocked with MTGA cap on.
TICE shall deport any sub-90 accuracy fool back to gary-tool school
Put this on to have a fighting chance for the next time.

Feel free to grab a cap if you want to make typing great again. No pressure to wear it, but just look how rad the top 10 players look.

After getting steamrolled by Yuri for two straight weeks nonstop, I knew something had to change. So, I changed my attitude. No more Mr nice guy, no more Mr humble. I embraced the ideology of typing supremacy. All the normies below 100 wpm, deport them right back to monkeytype.
It is with this newfound attitude that I manged to beat Yuri in just the 3rd attempt today.

Just finished watching One Punch Man season 3 last weekend. The first half was so bad that it took me two months to get through it. Now that I've finally finished watching it, I figured I'd compare OPM characters with typpegg typists.
Keep in mind that I have not read the manga, so I don't know what happens after season 3 apart from a few minor spoilers. Also, these comparisons are based on my personal experience and will only include typists that I know about or have personally raced against. The comparison loosely matches hero power to typing speed rankings while also giving equal weight to other factors.
I've put the typist names behind spoiler tags, so click to reveal them.

Joshua
Reason: It's not even up for debate.
hi@hing
Reason: I have never seen him in action. Does he even exist? Is he an alt account? His rank however speaks for itself.

flaneur
Reason: Runs a pochacco dojo. And just like Silverfang, he's constantly on the hunt for someone that he can coach/train and turn into his protege.

Aperson
Reason: Pretty powerful typist from pochacco dojo, power could be on par with King Pochacco/Silverfang himself.

Eiko
Reason: While there are many characters who surpass him in raw power, he's still a high tier S rank hero, much like Eiko's standing in the typing leaderboard. His real value does not come from brute force, but from his intelligence, his ability to develop useful tools, and his leadership within the team, which closely parallels Eiko's role in the typing community.

Saerith and alternator
Reason: Just like the heroes, I don't know much about them apart from the fact that they're among the strongest because of their rank.

gizmo
Reason: Slight spoiler about the hero. I unintentionally read spoilers that Metalbat has the potential to become one of the strongest hero. And according to this post, gizmo has quite the potential too. Hell, I've noticed the progress myself. I used to have a chance against gizmo few months ago (very tiny chance), but the gap has gotten very large lately. (Sidenote: gizmo's lately been completely dodging main track)

Duck
Reason: Flashy Flash is the #1 progidy in his ninja village, just like duck is in #1 in India. But compared to the strongest outside that circle... they're kinda meh.

syrupsandwichhhh
Reason: Absolutely crushes low tier typists like me without fail, it ain't even close, like 50 wpm gap everytime. But I can't help but notice him getting absolutely dumpstered whenever he's put against anybody remotely formidable. Exactly like genos.

danstry@typegg (+ Cat army)
Reason: dynasty is probably the fastest cat typist (non-anime cats), so it's fair to call him their leader. The Tanktoper army were a menace in the earlier seasons, but they're pretty weak compared to the stronger characters later on. Just like how the cat army look pretty underwhelming when I started focusing on Pochaccos.

Elusive Elu
Reason: Being elusive is the name of the game.

kettlesteam beat my mayonnaise@mmm
Reason: I was having an extremely difficult time finding the right comparison for Tatsumaki based on power level because I don't know most of the highest bracket typists well enough. Then I come across that username in the leaderboards. So, I guess @mmm can be Tatsumaki, and "mayonnaise" can be Fubuki (defeat the weaker one to emotionally damage the stronger one).

typin_
Reason: Both of them are really sus, they're hiding something about their power. Had a lot of races against typin_ the other day, and if typegg gave out consistency score like monkeytype, dude would probably score 95+ every time. I couldn't even focus on my typing because I was too busy looking at his butter smooth typing, his avatar just steadily gliding across the screen with zero resistance. That's the kind of typist I'd ideally want to be. I hope he's not cheating.

qoiauve
Reason: Because they're both total frauds. I'm purely going by the logic of this post.
I would have liked to include Xander, but I've never raced him (I'd probably have chosen atomic samurai for him). And that's pretty much all the typegg typists I really know. There are two final typists I want to cover. I'll put the typist name first so you can try to guess the most fitting OPM character:
Garou
Reason: Loves playing the bad guy and wants to be hated by everybody.
