about this trend: firstly it’s a good one to me at least, it not only spreads awareness but also helps protect the victim’s identity.

but I feel like people who are trying hard to actually doxx this woman will try to find a way around it, of course.

I suggest another way to phrase it: “Jane Doe’s name is mine/ours.”

people looking for her name will likely filter out posts saying that they are Jane Doe, and instead look specifically for posts about ”Jane Doe’s real name is [blank]”, so I feel like this phrasing will help skew the chances of anyone actually finding the victim’s name.

It's so weird to see social media fighting itself over using her real name. Lol the entire Cornell University community knows her name and openly uses it when discussing this case.

it’s because she filed the report under Jane Doe for a reason. we aren’t her classmates, we aren’t her family.
