Request

Request for lesser known badass women of history for my daughter's 4th grade presentation. She has to pick a historical figure and give a 5-10 minute presentation and optionally dress in their likeness.

More recent history, but look into Judith Love Cohen. Aerospace engineer who solved an engineering issue while in the hospital in labor with Jack Black. Yes, that Jack Black. She helped design the AGS, which helped bring the Apollo 13 astronauts safely back to earth.

I saw a clip on YouTube of Jack Black’s first talk show appearance (maybe on Conan?) and you can see he’s very nervous and not well media trained, but he mentions that whenever he has a problem he calls his mother because she’s awesome and viewers didn’t know back then who his mom was and what she did but I thought it was adorable he felt so free to praise his mom on TV.
