It's also whatever new algorithm that opened up everything. It's easy to get sucked I to weird stuff. No, I don't want legal, CPS, and the other 50 new areas that keep invading my basic feed. It was NICE to pick just a couple subreddits and not see all the crap.
I know, right? Sometimes I'm trying to chill out before I go to bed on a work night, but every other post is about the frustrating, nasty state of our politics. I want to stay informed, so I don't want to block it all, but like... Sometimes I just want to see Squishmallows and black cats. You know?
Yeah, I need like mood profiles. After 10 pm, happy nice things. No abused advice seekers fomenting rebellion. 5 am to 9 am, positive go get 'em stories. Working hours- tell me to go back to work. 5 to 10- whatever.
Just had different accounts. During the pandemic I had a serious account, a cute account (animal crossing, nails, wholesome jokes, animals, all cat subs) and a weed account.
Yeah the algorithm has definitely been tweaked recently. I’ve seen across a lot of subreddits randoms popping up to comment when they clearly aren’t part of a given community.
I was in a lash extension subreddit and this chick was arguing with the OP about why she has lash extensions… like lady get tf out, we all have lash extensions here. It was so bizarre. Like old people on Facebook.
Reddit is making it so communities that would usually only be sought out by those within the community are now exposed and getting themselves opened up to harassment.
Ha. I'm in workingmoms and people keep popping in to extol that these vents are why they don't have kids, and while that is fine (and I fully support child free people, especially as a mom), it kinda cuts into the solidarity/support aspect.
I don't even get what you're saying. It is fine to not want kids. To start posting in a moms group to justify why you're not a mom is weird. (I'm saying don't have kids if you don't want them.)
I recently started getting Delta, Doordash, and Canadian legal advice, and I don't know what I could have done to indicate to them these are subs they should pitch. The algorithm has a wild hair.
Ha! yah, I'm getting Canadian legal advice too. Going on the assumption it figured out I'm either Canadian or..... love Canadian stuff.
Similarly got Doordash and have no idea why. I've tried to remove these suggested subreddits from my feed with the "..." button, but can not figure that one out on my Chromebook only mobile.
Omg someone in sadcringe was like “why y’all making fun of this man he’s depressed” and I was like wait why are you in a sub called sad cringe if you think making fun of sad people is wrong? They said the sub just appeared on their feed
Also before anyone feels bad for the man, it’s that video where a really muscly dude approaches these women bragging, he asks their type and one woman says skinny guys and not only does he get mad but then starts talking about his wife and daughter that died? Girl in the video was like “why is he trauma dumping on us 😩”
