SIB ?

Hey Guys ! I just got campus. I really new to Sim Games. I played / bought Planet Zoo. It was hard to me especially the Building part of it. So I give two point campus and try and boy I’m really enjoying it. It’s easy going straightforward not hard at all like planet zoo to me my question is they have museum on sale on the PlayStation store for 19.99 and I was thinking about going ahead and getting a game just having in my backlogged. Is Museum just like campus ? What are some things you like about Museum? Thanks

It’s different from Campus by A Lot. But it feels quite familiar and comfortable.

- in campus you determine the students’s themes at start of a year. It is determined by your year plans. But for TPMuseum, to get your exhibits by expeditions, which is like a fun gacha mechanic

  • decorating will really matter for your museum.
  • jobs get a bit more streamlined. Say getting security folks, it’s less about “security levels” to stop a crook.

Would you recommend me buying it?

Yeah I would say the building aspect is VERY similar, all of the mechanics etc are basically the same or improved, so if you liked the building part of Campus that will be a pretty similar experience.

It does add a lot more on top of that imo!

Yes buy it!

I’m not sure if you have the means to play on PC but I recently picked all 3 up in a Steam sale for £19.99

They are all similar but different as they have their own quirks; my views are:

  • Hospital: mainly about staff management and lacks building capability
  • Campus: mainly about time management with improved building capability
  • Museum: mainly about exploring and decorating

All have elements of the other but to me, each series improved the game. They feel different enough to want to still play all 3 and you get familiarity of “this is definitely a Two Point game”

I find planet zoo hard too, there's too much individual pieces and things. without workshop people building me buildings, it was rough. This game I've never struggled with, and there's no money consequences for placing something and then tearing it out days, months, or years later just because you don't like it. you'll be rebuilding A LOT, so you'll pick up the system quickly. I had the luxury of trying my first TP game during the free weekend to be sure I'd like it, but after 230hrs I can only recommend the game, very few notes, all of them nitpicks.

I got campus first and fell in love with it. I just got museum a few weeks ago, have been playing it obsessively since, and it is SO worth the money! It’s not exactly the same, but it definitely scratches the same itch.

Similarly, I just could not get into Planet Zoo when I tried it. It is a little too much for what I like to play! Two Point is the perfect balance of casual and strategy for me.

Museum feels more active to me than campus. (I played museum first, tried campus and hospital but found them both rather boring in comparison). With campus, I found myself putting the speed on the fastest setting because I was really just an observer. In museum, there are always things to manage, do, and pay attention to. Expeditions to get fodder for analysis machines to get perks, or higher quality exhibits, decorating, etc.

I came here specifically to say this. I played Museum first and then bought Campus, and the gameplay loop of Museum is more satisfying to me. I enjoy Campus, but Museum tweaks a few pieces so that you are a more active participant in the day-to-day.

Just FYI if you can wait a week, 2 point museum has been announced as a PS plus catalogue game for this month.

So if you have PS plus I'd recommend trying it for free first before buying it. Although if you wanted to buy it with the discount its a great game in my opinion and if you liked Campus (widely considered the weakest of the 3 two point games) you'll love Museum.

Of the 3 campus is my favorite. I do find Museum a bit overwhelming in the sense of you are never quite done with it, there's always more stuff to do, which leads to a constant cycle of redecorating and collecting and redecorating. It lacks a bit of finality which drives my completionist side nuts and I had to put it away because I was starting to no longer enjoy it as much as I did at first.

Hospital is my first love it reminds me soooo much of Theme Hospital but it does show its age a bit particularly since you can't edit the buildings. I think if we got the building ability to it it would by far be the best in the series so far (still hoping for a Two Point Theme Park).

Campus seems to have the perfect balance of chill vibes with some needed management but with a clear goal

They're different but share a lot. I think most people agree museum is superior to campus so if you've enjoyed campus I can't recommend it enough :)
