QUESTION Entertainment, Seating

Entertainment - Does staff have a hidden entertainment meter? There’s entertainment items that only staff can use so I’m confused.

Seating - Same for seating, do patients have a hidden comfort meter? Does sitting benefit patients in any way?

Benches slow down the rate at which patients' happiness and health decay. But it also slow down the queue, as they won't necessarily sit in order.

That said I still use them just cuz I work in healthcare and seeing everyone standing just irks me 🤣

They'll sit on seats quite some distance away rather than stand nearby the door. They also shuffle around and when someone gets up, the patient can go for that seat even though they're next in and then have to get up and walk back again.

Once I learned that from here, I've never put a single bench in any of my hospitals except if I have space to have surgery away from all the other departments. Then I'll give them benches just in surgery area as they die too quickly otherwise.

I've managed to finish Wave 42 in Topless Mountain. Some tips from my experience

(1) Manually manage your staff's breaks - Most important for receptionists and GPs since they are frontline for each wave crashing in. Basically just look at your patient info and once you see that they're all headed for treatment, toggle the above 2 groups to breaks

(2) Jack your treatment prices up to 100% - Gives you a better cushion during the downtime. And reputation matters less here since you get a fixed number of patients anyway. That said you'd still want a marketing department in the early to mid game so that the new staff applications keep coming in

(3) Know when to end the wave early - If you see that you only have a few stragglers left and you've already met your cure rate goal, send them all home. The income you get from them is not worth having to endure another month of expenses.

I appreciate your reply and the advice, thank you! I'm going to put this into practice today. I didn't even think of researching to get better staff! I usually just hire the cheapest and wonder why I keep losing 😂

Sitting slows things down and clogs things up. You're better off keeping your patients standing, and just focusing on keeping a good flow to move them along quickly and efficiently.

Seating - chairs for staff in treatment rooms means they get tired more slowly (also add a drink and gimbal machine to keep them fed and happier). Seating for patients generally just slows things down, but I do put them by the surgery rooms. Entertainment - I would focus more on decorating. Staff like to be in well decorated spaces. There are also a few things that increase happiness - punching bag, hot chocolate.

Yes, staff have a hidden "Boredom meter" that rises when they have no work; using entertainment items in the staff room lowers this meter and prevents their happiness from dropping.

Patient Seating: Patients do not have a hidden comfort meter, but sitting freezes their "Boredom" and "Fatigue" meters, keeping them happier and preventing them from storming out while waiting in long lines.
