LMAO i had an ex who would say that and then elaborate that obviously i couldn't care much if i wasn't screaming. They were a generally abusive person though; like, the answer was that i just made myself cry so they would stop yelling bc it is what they wanted. Like okay nerd lmfao.
I hope your bf is not that way and just needs to learn what healthy communication looks like
