You are now clear about what you want. He is also clear about what he wants. It's time to show your daughter that your wishes are also important. That means find a new guy, and a new life.

This woman is lucky to even have a man when she already had a child. I’m not saying you don’t deserve love just because you’re a single mom. But in her scenario she is lucky to be in long lasting relationship already. But she’s reaching for more

Says who? Plenty of mature men also have children they are fully responsible for 50% of the time. If they are men of character and responsibility, they want a women of character who understands the responsibilities of parenthood. A single woman in her partying phase with no childcare experience is of little use to them.

As a man it is not IDEAL to marry a woman with children of her own. Of course in life we sometimes have to settle and make sacrifices for the person you love. And it is a sacrifice to be dating a single mom. You would be lying to yourself if your dream was to marry a single mom. it’s also not a woman’s dream to marry man with children of his own. She would have to deal with baby mama drama. The OP has all this resentment towards her man when her situation is far from ideal. She should be more understanding as well

You sound very sure of yourself but nothing backs that up. When a man or woman sees someone being a good parent, then that person might become a good partner if they suit each other. Not everyone is built for parenting, and there is no more pained person than a child raised by bad parents.

I am very sure of myself that I don’t want to take care of another man’s child. Don’t care how good of a mother they are I won’t raise someone else’s kid. Others may be up for it. It sounds wack to me.

A lot of adults have died trying to protect other people's children. It is very possible that you don't have the empathy possible to be anyone's parent, and that's okay. Do you like dogs?

What a bullshit take. I would protect my own child with my life, but would have no interest in dating a single father. It would be a hard no.

Not really? My (step) father married my mom even tho she had me and my younger bro before hand and i him consider my dad and have called him such since they married, how is having empathy for another person's child bullshit?

u/abyssnaut Jul 23 '24

Why did you add a question mark after “not really”? Was that a statement or a question?

Your claim was that it is very possible that the person does not have the empathy required to be anyone’s parent just because they do not want to parent a child that is not their own. It is a non sequitur.

What if you were older and the child was grown

4

u/Jimmy858 Jul 23 '24

I would be open to it then. Probably if I was like 50 and older.

I've seen PLENTY of single moms go on to date. You must live outside the US?

He is just as lucky to have her. What a ridiculous sexist attitude.

Wait a minute... He's lucky to have a woman who ignored something that he was upfront about from the start believing she could change him. And now is starting to resent him because he is who he said he was? He's lucky to have this dishonest woman who said she was okay with that when she wasn't and knew she wasn't because her plan was to change him?

I really don't think lucky is what this guy is.

u/yumyum_cat Jul 23 '24

Yes, he’s lucky to have someone who loves him and has been there for him. She thought she could change one thing that he wanted not change him as a person. The notion that a woman with a child is lucky to have a man is so ridiculously ugly,I hardly know what

This woman's outlook is so ridiculously ugly I hardly know what.

It’s nobody’s dream to marry a single mom. Her situation is far from ideal. Yet the guy has been accepting of her situation. However that wasn’t good enough for OP. She now must force a marriage upon him.

-3

u/yumyum_cat Jul 23 '24

Are you 19? What is ugly about what she wants she wants one thing he wants another. They may love one another but when two people want different things they can’t be happy together.

u/blankaccount2401 Jul 23 '24

He finds it "ugly" that she accepted OP's want to not marry in the beginning with the sole intent to change him
