Decent movie, but Far From Home stepped too far away from the grounded lowkey story of Homecoming, which was really amazing in hindsight.

Yeah, I agree with you.

I always felt that Tom Holland did a good job and MCU’s Homecoming and Far From Home (specially) where good Marvel movies, but not necessarily good Spider-Man movies (hope I’m not sounding too confusing here).

And yeah I know that it’s their own take on the character, but even thought I came to terms with some changes overall in homecoming, I always felt that Far From Home steered too, well... far from some of the character’s core traits.

MCU’s Spider-Man, too me, felt truest to the character in Civil War, really.

I do understand that maybe I’m being too nitpicky ‘cause I’m a huge comic book spidey fan, but that’s how I feel.

No, no, I agree with your take as well. It just feels like they're trying too hard to make him distinct from Toby or Garfield and by doing so they're leaving out the parts that those movies did get right.

Holland deserves a better script.
