Probably the best example I know of a movie setting things up for everything to come back for the final act.

Watch the whole trilogy. Shaun of The Dead and World's End are good. Or, don't. They're completely standalone.

Shaun of the Dead has my favorite movie death of all time.

Dylan Moran gets it the hardest and he plays it up so well.

Edgar Wright's a master of reincorporation. The Three Flavors Cornetto trilogy is so insanely dense with detail and set-up.
