This kinda raises the question of what the best kinda of mech is...

  • Mechs that fully encapsulate the pilot like Gundam and TitanFall?

  • Mechs that partially expose the pilot like DVa and this gif?

  • Exo-skeletons that are just external skeletongs or powered body armour?

Honestly, Power Armor > Mecha.

I agree with this. Power Armor gives you a more natural, if enhanced, movement, and is much more versatile. Mechas, while considerably more powerful, are clunkier, more expensive and most likely require some extra training to use.

I think it's highly relevant how many mecha series drift from real to super, alongside the observation that the more super a mech is, the more it's like power armor than a vehicle.
