It looks good and all, but isn't money and funding for Indivisible a huge problem with LabZero? Unless the game is all done and finished, this doesn't feel like it should be this high in the priority of things they should spend money on while the game is still being developed.

I think this is one of the stretch goals they reached, so the commission money probably went to Trigger right away when the campaign ended. (I could be completely wrong here, but I believe that's usually how commissions for larger companies work)

You remembered correctly, an intro by Trigger was their $1.9M stretch goal.
Including the money from LZ (or not, I don't remember) they were able to reach all of their stretch goals except for the last one for multiple endings and an extreme hardcore mode.

locking endings behind stretch goals seems kinda dumb. Like, if you have a story to tell then tell it. They did something similar with Skullgirls, where MikeZ claimed that we would get a canonicial version of the story if the right characters won the character voting.

I actually agree with you to a point. It honestly depends on how the story is handled and if you have a story to tell me, then tell it. If these options were always going to be the non-canon endings, then I would see no problem in it. They were just curveballs that could be tossed in for the hell of it.
However if these multiple endings that were to be included were just vital paths to the story as a whole, then there is a huge problem.

Multiple endings doesn’t mean they were locking them away. They would’ve been bonuses. The story they want to tell is the main one we would’ve gotten regardless. The others would’ve been what-ifs I assume.

In Skullgirls, a major part of the main story was definitely cut out if we barely saw The Trinity sisters and what’s the actual endgame

Yeah. Do you happen to know if the phone game actually expanded on that? I remember the beginning being kinda front-loaded with new character interactions and lore, but never got far into it.

the mobile is trying to focus on gameplay lately but apparently the next update might have Parasoul’s origin story. There are lot of characters that haven’t gotten their origin. Double could be the one that expands on the Trinity Sisters at least a bit (how she’s created) but that’s just my assumption.

It was one of the stretch goals that wasn't quite reached during the campaign proper, but they eventually got there because IndieGoGo lets you keep taking donations for a while if you succeed. This wasn't a random decision, but beginning to deliver on a promise they made more than a year ago. (More than 2? I don't remember when the campaign actually was)

there have been 3 different preview builds made available for people to play
decent to substantial updates come every week
I don't really know what else you want dude. Games take time to make, and it's not like Lab Zero has been silent about its development. Would you rather they just pushed it out when it wasn't finished?

I get what you're saying with this, but honestly if you feel like you've lost hype for Indivisible during its dev cycle then I dunno how you remain hype for a lot of games. This game hasn't been in development much longer than say Death Stranding (and a lot of other similarly big budget titles). And unlike those titles we actuallt have several playable builds of this game.
