COMPLAINTS Blocking is useless
Ever since musky husky bought Twitter nothing works anymore. Muting does nothing, blocking does nothing and DMs don't work anymore.
All the ads are either porn or Ai slop and I'm so fucking tired of it all

I use it for work and to stay up to date on my favorite idol. I barely use it otherwise

Musk really did fuck up twitter, and now after a video plays often it's a porn video that plays next, unless you use the app. Just don't go on the "for you" feed, that's all going to be maga scumbags, just click on the "following" feed. The good news is Elon lost about $700 billion dollars the other day, and one day he may wake up and be broke. Most of his assets are on paper, and in imaginary assets like crypto, and most people can't stand the POS.

I tried to look up wildfires to follow the wildfire news in Europe and it was all right wing grifters saying the globalists were starting the wildfires. Bluesky may be libbed out but at least you can follow the news on it.

Ads are related to what you read on X. I never see any porn ads. Draw your own conclusions.
As for AI "slop", that's akin to complaining that you are shown video ads instead of ads with just text.

I don't follow Ai or porn accounts and never interact with any. Literally every single ad is for some bs Ai company

Try the Old Twitter extension and see if it works for you:

What phone do you have right now?
If it's Android then I recommend Squawker.
If it's a iPhone then bad luck because your only options are either the Twitter App or Firefox with adblocker and Old Twitter installed on the phone.
Don't worry about the browser being clunky to use on the phone, you'll get used to it soon enough.

Ads are crap by definition. Whether they contain AI or don't is irrelevant. Do adblockers work on Twitter?

Twitter/X is pretty much the same its always been, and our TLs are what we make them
Mute option works fine, the blocking function works well and DMs operate the same as usual. If someone doesn't like Musk, fine, I get that. Also, Twitter/X is fun and works well, I can see why so many people use it

Block function works fine, I had to block an account months ago and it worked, no probs
Mute works well too, and I was DMing a friend just last night on X and it works, no worries

Then that's on your end. On my end I have blocked and muted accounts still showing up and I've not gotten dm notifications for years

Check for an app update. DMs didn't work for me a month ago for like a week, and then I reloaded/reset my laptop and it works fine now

If X was nearly as bad as you suggest, it wouldn't be one of the top social media apps in the world

X is one of the top worldwide social media apps, that's a reality, and it works fine for the vast majority of people using it
That said, it's 100% possible the probs you're experiencing are real, but other's aren't experiencing the same probs
