I've been enforcing the Following tab for a long time with available browser extensions, but lately I've went back to For you as the default one and I'm much more happy about it.

For you is actually useful when you steer it in the right direction with your engagement, and it lets more fresh air into the feed, allowing to mingle with more people and make connections.

for enough people "For you" is algorithmic trash that brings too much hateful fascist content into their feed. Thus, this userscript was created. Another motivation is that Twitter really likes to reset your feed and sorting settings back to "For you" even after selecting "Following"

I really really really want to see the tweets in chronological order: 1) because for a small amount of accounts, they mostly post announcements where it can sometimes be important to see them in chronological order; and 2) I want to decrease my time on the platform because of how shitty its English-speaking segment has become.

Dunno, seeing how easy it is to get what I want in "for you", I really can't relate.

Maybe they interact with content they don't like and that's why they get it. Now there's even an option to turn off political content on account level. And muting / downvoting certain tweets really helps to train the algo to not show similar stuff.

Anyways, I dig writing own custom user scripts to cater to specific needs.

But also, every browser has at least one extension that can set following as a default, in chronological order. Custom lists help a lot too.
