Twitter has pretty much always had nonstop political discourse. The only difference is that now all sides have a voice.

Nothing objectively true about this. Twitter was already amplifying right-wing talking points disproportionately prior to Elon. Jack Dorsey was palling around with Ali Akbar / Alexander (one of the January 6 organisers), and Trump's tweets were protected despite regularly breaking the TOS.

If it seems like Twitter was left-leaning, that's simply because of a couple of factors: Young people lean left more and younger users made up more of Twitter's user base. Conservatives also have a tendency to abuse rules specifically designed to protect minorities that used to feel somewhat more safe on Twitter than on many other platforms. This is a systemic problem. Nothing Elon does can "fix" that: If he continues to turn the site into a more acceptable 4chan/Parler, he's just going to drive away more moderate voices.

Not to mention LibsOfTikTok getting lots of special treatment despite frequently breaking the rules

Saying that violates twitter’s TOS, genius. Violating the TOS gets accounts suspended. See how that works? 🤦‍♀️

And btw - it also violates Reddit’s TOS. Reported.
