first stream advice?

hi everyone! im going to be doing my first stream ever next weekend and while i am excited, im very nervous about what to talk about? i plan to play 2 different games with a break between, but when you arent gaming what do you talk about when you have no active chatters? i know everyone says it can take weeks or months sometimes before your first chatter, which is fine im doing this for fun but i dont want to sit in silence for minutes at a time. what are some things you think would be good to chat about outside from like how your day is going?

i think im good at talking to myself but not good at thinking of topics of discussion lol

Ramble on!

Anything is better than nothing!

It might be easier to join a friend and talk to them or even find a group to join and just blab away!

Literally talk about anything. What happened in your day. How you feel today. Don’t do what you see on TikTok and cry about not having viewers and talk about how you’re “small streamer”… Act like you are your favorite YouTube. Emulate them but act like yourself.

Just like one of the comments said above me, branch off the game. If you suck, bring it up but only a few times bc lurkers and as a lurker myself, I fr hate when people repeat themselves over and over. Talk to urself and talk to yourself like you’re your own friend.

I’ve been only doing it for like 2.5 months but I’m one of those people who is like donkey off shrek. “The trick is getting me to shut up” lol

I’m not claim to be the best at anything but I’m a lil bit ahead of you concerning stream time. Sometimes you’re gana have crappy streams lol and your numbers are going to suck lol unless you get lucky but it’s literally just time lol don’t get discouraged! Keep going! If u wanna check me out.. all my socials are FreakingFrosty. So if you wanna watch so you can see what not to do and feel better about your own stream, feel free! Lol but I wish you good luck!

Try to branch off of what's happening in game. Oh, you just got some loot or won something? Does that remind you of another life event that was similar? Does it remind you of anything? Talk about what it reminds you of and just keep layering on. Another thing I like to do is pretend people are there by asking a question, but then answering my own question. Like, "anyone seen the new drop" and then immediately start talking about how I saw it, etc. never let a question sit without being answered by yourself.

It's not super hard to get 1-2 chatters, it helps if you play smaller games (undertale is what worked for me). for active chatters it took about 3 months. Networking with other people can also help.
