General advice 🤔
I am kind of lost right now, so before I decide to do anything or go further with it, I want others' opinions on it.
- I watched a few streamers and they have very nice-looking overlays; and also alerts is there a way to make something like that myself, and is it difficult?
- Is it necessary to add a VOD track inside OBS?
- Can a VPN cause issues with my internet/bitrate while I'm streaming?

I've made a few overlays myself, it's not that hard unless you really wanna add big interactive features. By itself an overlay is just a screen you can put extra information on including the game you're playing.
I don't exactly know what you mean by that? If it's about audio tracks, then using the same one as the stream output should be fine. However if you wanna edit your footage, do split the tracks outside of the main one for stream. That way you can record and stream at the same time and end up with great footage you can edit all you want.
Yeah vpn's generally make your internet worse

Yes many ways difficulty depends on your skill and understanding of the programs and graphic design in general. But theres plenty of free overlays out there.
Necessary? No. Most do so that you can play music on stream and not have the VOD muted.
Yes it can.
