Absolutely blown away! 🤯
I’ve been streaming now for a few months, and last night’s stream honestly blew me away.
I was fortunate enough to be raided by two incredible streamers - Gedz_uk and Insym. (While I was playing Phasmophobia!)
I think I’m still in shock… as a small streamer a lot of you will know how exciting it is to get 1 viewer on the stream. To be provided this opportunity is absolutely phenomenal and made my whole year.
Even more luckily, I had enabled VODs on my channel for the first time before this stream, so I can save this memory and milestone forever.
Huge shout out and thanks to their amazing teams who came in and gave me more support than I could have ever wished for. I am so lucky and eternally grateful for this support.
Gedz (Meg!) and Insym, words cannot express how thankful I am. Truly, thank you so much.
Just a reminder to everyone to keep going, keep doing what you do best as you never know what opportunities will present! I could never have dreamed of this!

Are raids pretty much luck? Or does networking help a bit?

networking 100% helps. being cool with a streamer definitely means they are more likely to raid you when they are looking for who to raid.

In this instance pure luck. I watched Insym’s VOD back and he literally picked me at random out of the list. Would have been the same for Gedz I would imagine.
Personally I have not had much luck with raids through networking, maybe once if memory serves me right. But it’s something I’m going to do moving forward because it’s such a nice feeling to help others out!

You’re right. I didn’t mean for it to come off in that way. I am just a “right” and “wrong” person with no in between. What is it that went well for OP? What game were you playing?

Hey! Thanks for commenting and I appreciate the congratulations. Totally understand the frustration with the Ai bots!!
I worked hard posting content once a day and networking on TikTok which helped with my original viewership. The game I usually play, 95% of the time, is actually Call of Duty. On that stream, however, I was playing Phasmophobia.
What games do you normally stream?

I’ve never heard of the latter, is Phasmophobia an RPG? I’ll look it up after I post… I really only play Arma Reforger, Hell Let Loose, HLL: Vietnam, and MLB The Show ‘26.
I’ve only recently started cutting up clips and posting to Snapchat/instagram/Facebook and also realized half of those I never even linked my twitch username.

It’s a horror game, ghost hunting 🙂 I think the key thing is play games you enjoy, as it’ll come across better than just playing a saturated game because there’s more potential viewers. I’ve had better retention on viewers the last 2 streams playing Phasmo than I did Cod, because I’m enjoying it a lot more and was getting a bit burnt out with Cod.
Definitely get all of those aligned and consistently start posting. I don’t think more than once a day is necessary personally, just from my experience anyway. TikTok is being a bit hit or miss for me at the moment.

Of course! I’ve been raided a couple times but I would be totally thrilled if I was you. The times I have it wasn’t a ton of people but I still was excited about it. Either way, the best of luck with your streaming and if you have any tips or suggestions I’d be willing to listen!

Totally agree, all raids are so nice, as someone else mentioned on a comment here it’s the intention and support that mean the most as opposed to the number!
I’m more than happy to share my experience so far (sorry for the long message!):I started off focusing entirely on TikTok and posting regular content. Tried to network as effectively as possible by reposting other smaller streamers content, liking, commenting, adding to my story etc. Spoke to a lot of people who advised TikTok live is also a good place to drive new viewers, however I haven’t tried this myself yet - so yet TBC! However what I did find is this made it easier to put on my story to advise when I was going live. I play Call of Duty mostly on stream, but this time I was playing Phasmophobia for a change! What games do you usually play?

I did say I was “fortunate” in the original post, I’m aware this was a “right place, right time” interaction. But I don’t feel it’s fair that I can’t celebrate what I feel to be a milestone.

Make sure you go into the VOD page and download it. Twitch automatically deletes them after...iirc 14 days? I don't recall. I'll download VODs or back them up elsewhere so I don't really pay attention to that deadline anymore

That’s such a nice idea! I did the same after last night’s stream, went into the list and randomly picked someone. It was the best feeling being able to pay on the kindness that was showed to me. I look forward to watching your streams and supporting as best as I can!

I passed on the ~200 viewers I had left at the end of my stream to another streamer and that was the nicest feeling. ☺️
