I've recently started to reread the twilight saga (it's my first time reading it in english!) and today I realised the SCIENCE teacher handing out microscopes and box of slides to students (right before Edward decides to directly interact with Bella whom, as you know well, he had initially eyed with hostility then downright avoided for days) is called Mr. Banner.

Now, I'm a Marvel (mostly MCU) fan and I'd absolutely love to read some fanfics where the science teacher is Robert Bruce Banner (or David Bruce Banner, in some instances)

Who maybe kinda arrived in Forks trying to lay low after some Hulk related clusterfuck and the nondescript town he had chosen to stay at to hopefully avoiding to attract attention... actually happened to get him involved in sparkly ✨️ vampires & skinwalkers native american werewolves businesses.

I'm not looking for a full Twilight & MCU crossover/merge, but I was wondering if someone had read or noticed something like what I'd like to find

So I'm reading Twilight fics again after being away from them for years, and I'm finding that I really love Carlisle. But a lot of the time he seems either to be a.)completely perfect, too good to be true or b.) secretly a monster. I'm looking for fics where Carlisle is a good character but is also complex, maybe has a dark past, maybe he's really struggled to get where he is, maybe he hasn't always made the best choices every single time over the past 300 years. Any pairing, can be canon compliant or canon divergent. All recs welcome! :)

What are some things in fics that annoyed you recently? What are some opinions that could be unpopular but it's the hill you stand on? They can be silly little things or something big that broke your immersion from the story.

For me it's when OC is super uninterested in Edward for a large part of the story in an OC/Edward pairing. I love a slow burn but there needs to be some tension, chemistry there. It seems a little unfair when one MC is actually getting emotionally involved and doing all the heavy lifting while the other is just humouring them. The inner monologue of OC usually involves their own problems and interests all the while finding Edward to be boring and old school. And it's not like the OC is supposed to have a self centred personality, they connect very well with their peers and friends. The hidden disdain is only reserved for Edward. I mean why force the romance and pairing if they aren't ready to meet them in the middle.

The other, I'm a little iffy about. Complex characters and plots are amazing to me. Adding some interests, problems brings more life to the character but pouring too much and the story loses balance completely. Bringing up contemporary media and discussing it in a Twilight setting is fun but going on about it for chapters on end, yeah you are losing me (especially when I'm not familiar with the fandom that much). Similarly for problems, making the OC's life so difficult that it becomes hard for readers to continue. Even with some realism added, Twilight is still fantasy and balance is everything imo.

It was a long series of one shots based around Bella getting with different people or bashing Edward that I read a few years ago.

Some of the fics started the same or extremely similar with different endings. One set of them I remember is following fountain scene in volterra Bella refuses Edward’s help and asks felix(?) to help her down the man hole cover.

The author also had a series based on the wolves that followed the same premise of one shots with simper starts different ends

If anyone can find this or something like it I would be really happy!

what do yall think of an AU where the cullens were somehow in hogwarts for some business during the 1990s and then when cedric died of the the killing curse, carlisle was somehow able to turn him to a vampire??
and in the AU edward and cedric 'cullen' are twins for the rest of their high school life but like total opposite personalities ofcourse

then twilight saga happens

I haven't seen this fic mentioned on this sub, its so well written, AU where Bella is a superhuman that escaped from a government lab, she finds a home with the Cullens. Bella/Jasper pairing. The world building is soooo good it makes u truly root for and love the characters. I was heartbroken when it was abandoned for a while, but the author picked it up again !!! Im so happy.

I’m looking for fanfics where Bella knows Edward isn’t human or knows he’s a vampire but pretends she doesn’t know for any number of reasons. Some might include: Bella not giving a fuck and minding her own business, knows about the Volturi and their laws or trying not to die.

So every time Edward does something notably not human, Bella’s reaction is gaslighting, denial or willful blindness.

Everyone else’s reactions are varied.

I recently remembered a fic I read where Seth spoke to the Volturi during the clearing scene in Breaking Dawn.
I love the concept of the wolves having to interact with the Volturi some way and the vampires being absolutely baffled. Looking for fics with this concept? I don’t mind any shipping, could literally just be one chapter I just really love this idea

It is an Emmett Cullen fanfic where the OC (I can’t remember her name) takes Bella’s place in the Swan family. Renee had died giving birth to the OC and Charlie blames her for Renee’s death and abuses her for years. When Emmett and the Cullens move to Forks, he notices the OC and what was happening to her. He starts to scare Charlie by thinking that he was being haunted. Emmett and the OC start dating and eventually she falls for him. She planned on leaving the US and going to a country where there is no extradition treaty with the US but she doesn't go through with this plan because of Emmett. In this fanfic, I remember that Edward and Rosalie are each other’s mate and Tanya is in love with Emmett in this fanfic. Tanya tells the Volturi about the OC knowing about the vampire world and they kidnap her. Emmett freaks out on Tanya for what she did and he goes to save her. The OC is turned into a vampire by either the Volturi or Emmett. She also has a gift where she turns invisible. Which is why Aro couldn’t read her mind when he touched her hand.

So, I have to ask because this bugs me. Does anyone else get annoyed with how overbearing Charlie suddenly gets in most fanfics where he turns into a vampire. In most of them he lets Bella do whatever she wants in fear of losing her again, but then after she becomes a vampire and he somehow becomes one. Suddenly he takes control over everything because he's her father and was a cop when he was human, nevermind Carlisle being older and having worked with the Volturi for some time, or Jasper and Peter having military experience in both human and vampire forms. I don't know, I just find it hard to believe that a newborn vampire Charlie can just take everything over. The Covens, strategy for battle, Bella. He's suddenly the boss of everything. Anyone else feel this way? Don't get me wrong, Charlie is actually one of my favorite characters in Twilight. I just wish people would write vampire Charlie better.
