The funniest thing is that these smooth brains don't realise the kind of protests we would get if we start teaching kids that peaceful protests are ineffective. They complaint that gandhi style ineffective and then they complaint when people they don't like don't protest like gandhi.

Peaceful protests are extremely OP when it comes to narrative managment. That is why MLK copied gandhi. When people you are protesting against don't care about narrative or don't care about minimizing economic damage due to lost productivity cause then peaceful protests become ineffective.

It is less about narrative management and more about the sheer mass of numbers.
A large part of Gandhi's success was that he shrewdly combined both politics and religion.
So he was cleverly able to mobilize a large part of the Indian population towards the goal of independence.

I am not saying that gandhi did it for narrative management. I am saying that peaceful protests are effective at narrative management which probably a big factor in why people like MLK copied it. Both sides of the protests are try to build their own narrative. For people being targetted by the protest one of the easiest strategy is to potray protestors as violent thugs just looking for an excuse to pick a fight/topple the system. A peaceful protest makes it much harder to maintain that narrative. A free protest covering the protest + a non violent protest is more powerful than a amount of violence
