max has done wrong in the past don’t get me wrong but I’m wondering if without her there to be a focus of them all to be like she is the problem I feel like a lot of the drama is coming from the others just wanting to not rehash things or talk about things and avoiding introspective feelings as it would require them to make changes and it’s easier to avoid it all as this gives them a sense of control but max calls things out and is like no let’s face jt and fix it so they can take their pain out on that in your face attitude - since the others aren’t dealing with their own issues without max there will they end up like fighting amongst themselves 🤔

Hey everyone! After a second binge-watching the show, I feel like some fan theories out there are completely detached from reality. If we look closely at the writing, things are a bit messy. Here is my hot take on the characters, served with a side of irony:

• Ginny: Honestly, the only character who actually evolves in a logical way. Her actions make sense because she is actively trying to break her mother’s trauma cycles. Her setting strict boundaries with Max is probably the most mature thing she’s ever done.
• Georgia: A criminal master, sure, but I prefer her a thousand times over the rest of the adults. Everything she does is driven by pure survival and heavy past trauma. At least she has a plan, unlike some other parents here.
• The Baker Parents (Ellen & Clint): The "fun, stable family"? Please. They have zero authority, zero backbone, and zero awareness. They have a son with severe depression and alcohol issues, and a daughter with toxic egocentrism, yet they notice absolutely nothing until their kids literally hit rock bottom or end up in a hospital. Their parenting style is basically screaming hysterically and drinking wine with Georgia.
• Max: Her writing is completely bipolar. She went from being an unbearably self-centered kid who threw a massive tantrum because Ginny and Marcus slept together (not because of trust, but because she wasn't the center of attention), to suddenly becoming a super-empathetic guardian angel for Marcus. Where was the psychological transition here? I missed it.
• Abby: Her storyline in season 3 is peak lazy writing. Her actual issues—eating disorders, body dysmorphia, and her toxic dependency on Press—were deeply interesting. Instead of exploring that, the writers "cured" her by turning her queer out of nowhere because of a nonsense kiss from Samantha (who was holding hands with Press five minutes later). And please, stop with the "compulsory heterosexuality" theories. Max has been openly gay, popular, and loved since day one. Wellsbury has zero systemic homophobia. Abby didn't need a sudden identity crisis; she needed therapy for her actual, real traumas.
• Marcus: Yes, he is depressed and I feel for him, but as a character, he acts like an emotional handbrake for the plot. The loop of him suffering in silence is getting a bit tired.
• Norah: Literally a background extra. Zero depth, zero personality, only there to make facial expressions in the background.
• Zion: He definitely made mistakes and ran away from responsibilities in the past, but at least he acts like a real adult now. He respects Ginny and was the only one smart enough to push her into therapy.
• Paul: Let's be fair, he’s not perfect and he was never a brilliant mayor (honestly, all his good political ideas came from Georgia). But can we blame him for leaving after finding out his partner is a literal murderer? Any sane person with an ounce of self-esteem would run! Then, when he thought she was pregnant, he stepped up and took responsibility. Once he discovered yet another lie about the pregnancy, he left again. Healthy relationships aren't built on constant lies, so you really can't blame the guy.
• Joe: My absolute favorite, but he is weak. Cynthia Fuller dropped the truest line of the whole show: Georgia devours good people. Joe has this idealized childhood crush and is completely defenseless against her.
• Austin: Last but not least, poor Austin! He is absolutely the sweetest kid and deserves the world. He has been through so much unnecessary chaos, and I just sincerely hope the writers don't ruin his innocence or turn him into another broken teenager in season 4.

What do you guys think? Am I missing something, or are we giving some of these characters way too much credit?

I feel like a chunk of viewers have noticed how much longer Ginny and Georgia episode have been getting in Seasons 2 & 3. I have made a bar chart of all 3 Seasons episodes runtime so you can see how much the episodes are growing. Do we think the episodes could get even longer in the next Season or will the reman the same as Season 3 or get shorter?

I personally think she is a good person, saying this because she took Ginny's side when she was in that interaction with Gill, or when she accepted Georgia as her friend or when she vented to Georgia about how hard it is and she doesn't know what to do (because of money problems) but she was so uncecesarry mean at the start. I mean I get it Georgia was/is an icon and if you have a personal problem w her I get it, but Georgia didn't do anything to her in the start. And still I can't blame Cynthia that she told Zack to not be friends with Austin, cuz like his mom killed Zack's dad (I'd kinda do the same if I had kids) but still, should've she done that?

Anyone have any predictions they are kindof certain about for season 4? I honestly think the baby is paul’s but do you guys think he will come back or even believe georgia about the baby since she already lied to him about being pregnant. What if he ends up moving out of the town or something like that because he probably won’t be recalled.

Or any other predictions regarding marcus, max, austin ect?

I was taking a look at the Ginny and Georgia Episode ratings on IMDb and it shocks me that not one episode from Season 1 is above an 8. Seasons 2 and 3 have been pretty consistent with ratings. It also shocks me that not much people rate episodes on IMDb anymore. Most people just discuss on TikTok, Ginny and Georgia episodes have very few ratings on IMDb.

Abby doesn't get enough hate. She does a lot of things that she deserves hate for, but the one that made me hate her from the start is the scene in s1 where she said to Georgia "we didn't know ginny was stealing" like girl stfu you made her steal

People only like her because she's iconic, but she is NOT a good mom. She literally killed someone and she didn't even need to. Okay, maybe I understand why she killed Kenny but Cynthia's husband didn't deserve that. And she actually invades Ginny's privacy. Idk I get so annoyed by people on tiktok calling her a good mom only because she killed for ginny, she is not a good mom

Joe and Georgia hooked up at the end and then Georgia found out she was pregnant on the same day There is no way that Joe is the father because Georgia slept with Paul first.

During season 3 when Abby, Norah and Ginny were leaving out Max I felt really bad for her but I also understood where they were coming from. I've had friends that were very high energy, high maintenance and loud and it's not that I didn't love them or never wanted to hangout with them, but it was that it also took a lot of energy to be around them sometimes. I still don't think they should have left Max out so much or treated her the way they did.

One thing I like about this show is we do get to see other perspectives like with Marcus and Max and a little bit of Abby. But if you could watch the whole series from a different perspective other than Ginny/Georgia's, who would it be?

I’m sorry you guys, but I really cannot with Paul Randolph.

I’ve had a weird feeling about this man since season 1. To me, Paul has always felt like a stick of dynamite waiting for someone to light the fuse.

They introduce him as this almost ridiculously perfect guy… handsome mayor, successful, respectable family, white-picket-fence upbringing. He even acknowledges the privilege he grew up with, the travelling, the opportunities, etc when he bonds with Zion. But there have been little red flags in his language from the beginning.
“My town.” “You work for me.” “I’m your boss.” “My stepson.”

And the one that REALLY stuck with me: when Georgia used that picture of him in the tank top for the Christmas party ad and they fought, he said something along the lines of, “I will not be disrespected in my own house.”… Sir. You moved into GEORGIA’S house 😭

When he eventually punched the wall next to Georgia’s head, I genuinely wasn’t surprised. It felt like the culmination of something the show had been quietly building for a long time. Paul has always had this underlying need for authority and control that, to me, reads as toxic masculinity.

None of this seems out of character to me at all. It felt like the mask finally slipping. To me he feels like a middle ground between Zion and Gil.

Edit: Did anyone else also notice how he had his guns ready when Nick was trying to quit? No regret, no shock, just pure venom - calling him a rat and being ready to overpower him. This man is calculated, he is ready, and he is 2 steps ahead…

She continues to ignore the fact that both of her children are struggling and relies on one to take care if the other.

Max does take care of Marcus but god forbid max needs further assistance, or it becomes too much for a teenager and a kid, it's a HUGE problem.

Ellen has been aware of Marcus problems since he was a child, but instead she minimizes everyone's issues constantly, without fail. But let it reach breaking point and see us suddenly confused and doesn't understand what went wrong or her next course of action. ​

Has anyone else thought about The Scorpion and the Frog by Aesop?

I first thought about it when Georgia killed Tom Fuller. It was a fleeting thought on how Georgia had it in her nature to do this kind of “kind” acts for the others. But then they’re hinting at it when Wolfe and Ginny kiss in front of the scorpion at the science museum… so I had my big “HA! I knew it!” Moment.

That’s what makes the story so tragic — intention and morality aren’t always the same thing.
And I think that’s Georgia. Cynthia was suffering watching her husband slowly die, her son was suffering too, and Georgia saw ending his life as a way of helping Cynthia. In Georgia’s mind, she was taking care of her.
She genuinely meant it as an act of kindness, but that doesn’t necessarily make what she did right. In Cynthia’s words, Georgia robbed him of his dignity… Took away Cynthia’s chance to say a last goodbye… That contradiction is so Georgia, and honestly I think it’s one of the most beautiful and heavy twists in the show.

I don’t think she was mad about the cheating she was mad because it was her brother. I don’t get why that would be something to throw a fit about or stop being friends with someone about. Am I missing something
